The children and teachers of Scoil Shéamais Naofa have begun taking part in a European Educational project called Erasmus+. This project involves learning and participation by schools from Ireland, Spain, Sicily, Poland Greece and Sicily. The theme of our combined project is “Transport in the Past, Present and Future”. Children will do school work across the curriculum based on this theme from September 2017 to September 2019. We are delighted to be funded by Europe. The objectives of the project are to increase European cooperation, stimulate learning across the curriculum, and develop European and cultural awareness and teacher professional development. To date the children in our school have worked on art, music, guidebooks, environment awareness, geography, history and more. Over the two years there will be lots of work and fun learning more about our partner countries. We will keep you posted on next phase!

Ryanair Flights Disgrace!!! Now NowMicheal…

Ryanair has been forced to cancel over 400 flights due to poor planning and due to pilots arguing over not getting enough holidays/spare time. This is a disgrace to the Ryanair passengers and pilots. Ryanair has agreed to give full refunds to their passengers. Alternatively passengers will be offered other Ryanair flights!

Things we have learned!!!

Electric CarsWe have learned that petrol and diesel cars are on the way out! We have more wind farms than ever before! We need more wind farms but also more solar and tidal energy in order to cut down on poisonous car emissions!! Natural Disasters If we don’t stop global Warming we’re in big trouble. Hurricanes, storms, flooding and other disasters will destroy the natural habitats of animals as well as affecting people living inlow lying countries.

More NewsWe are trying to encourage parents to switch from diesel & petrol cars to hybrid or electric cars or in the near future hydrogen cars. It has been proven that there are 4,500 premature deaths due to diesel emissions each year. We are also trying to encourage the children of our school to cycle and to walk to school more instead of driving because it is bad for the environment. We are currently working our tail ends off for our upcoming concert…No pressure….

Are these not lovely! What will our generation produce in the future????
