PUBLIC ART EXPERIENCE

Diehl Memorial Fountain, commissioned by the City of Frederick to design and fabricate a drinking fountain for the CarrollCreekPark. Design based on an historic fountain and includes ADA basins as well as a pet drinking basin. Dedication set for spring 2007.

Captain Rocky VersacePlaza and AlexandriaVietnam Veterans Memorial, Alexandria, Virginia. Served as Associate Designer for Toby Mendez Studios developing and drafting concept and preparing research materials – 2002.

C&OCanalCommemorativeMonument, Canal Place, Cumberland, Maryland. Associate Designer for Toby Mendez Studios. Fabricated studio equipment and sculpted period tackle for life-size bronze mule – 2000

The Warwick Quahogger, A Days Catch, Warwick Public Library, Warwick, Rhode Island. Mechanical Designer of fountainworks. Key to this project was coordination and partnership with City Staff – 1998

Thurgood Marshall Memorial "Equal Justice Under Law" State House Grounds, The State of Maryland Governor's Commission, Annapolis, Maryland. Fabricated steel handrail system on entrance to the 50' x 60' plaza to State specifications – 1996

A Tribute to the Oyster Tonger, Friends of AnnmarieGardens, Calvert County, Maryland

Fish Filler, commissioned by the Braddock Heights Pool Association to design and build a site-specific, filler spout. The design had to comply with State Health Department and Local Plumbing Codes as well as protect the typically vulnerable and dangerous fill piping – 1991

Point of Rocks Veterans Memorial, first public monument, designed and fabricated as a community project. Constructed of timbers and panels and pays tribute to deceased veterans from WWI to present – 1982

PUBLIC ART EXPERIENCE – Design Honors

Baker Park Sundial, Frederick, Maryland, A finalist in the city’s inaugural public art competition, the proposed design was a large-scale, interactive timepiece that chronicled local history and introduced visitors to earth science – 2003

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial, Associate Designer on team assembled by Toby Mendez Studios. Design was awarded Honorable mention, and the team was a finalist from a field of one thousand competing for the National Monument on the Mall in DC – 2001.
