Activities and Groups at the Centre

Caxton House Community Centre (est. 1974) is a local community hub based in Islington. Caxton House works in partnership with various groups and organisations in the area and focuses on meeting the needs of local people, we play a key role in social care and community development. We offer a number of education, fitness and arts projects and provide a key link between like minded organisations and the local community.

Organisations currently based at the centre include: London Capital Credit Union, Kurdish and Middle Eastern Women's Organisation (KMEWO), Octopus Community Network, Jobs in Mind, Choices C.I.C, Another Way, Scarabeus Aerial Theatre, The Hills Community Trust and Elthorne Pride (Big Local Initiative).

Experience Archery London is a fully mobile company with a passion for making this historic and fun sport accessible to all. Whether you're 8 or 80, Experience Archery can tailor an event or programme to suit your needs. Gentle Exercise FREE

A free service aimed at the over 55’s but open to all, gentle exercise will provide both health benefits and that extra boost of confidence!

Improving flexibility, coordination, balance and suppleness, strengthen muscles and bone density, improve your confidence and feel good!

Family Zumba

Thursdays 6.30pm-7.30pm in the Café

Get fit, have fun and meet new people at Family Zumba (Formerly Family Dance)! Aimed at all abilities, it’s open to all and can be done sitting down if you prefer.

Classes are £2 per session, children go free but must be supervised by an adult. (Maximum of 3 children per paying adult).

Aryal Lotus Yoga

Contact improvisation is a movement form based on a physical exchange of information between partners. It is a dance of improvising and partnering based on the physics of touch, balance, weight, momentum, flow and resistance. Please note that the jam is an open event without a teacher and participants are responsible for their own safety and well being in the jam.

Ballroom Dancing

Come along and challenge yourself with a few hours of ballroom workout. You will learn new techniques along with some sparkly moves from the dance floors all over the world. With a new dance each month, it's the perfect way to explore ballroom dance!

Everyone is welcome – whether you are leader or follower. You will be changing partners in this class therefore it means you may be dancing with someone of the same gender.
