  4. Everybody come to play games, learn about organizations, and advertise CampSparky
  5. MD Announcements

  8. Intramurals
  9. $5 per person to sign up
  10. Football sign-up passed around
  11. 8 vs 8 noncompetitive league
  12. Sept. 24 to Oct. 18 regular season
  13. Play-offs (if we make it) until Nov. 26

3. Practices will be fitted to people’s schedules

  8. Everyone is welcome to come to Thurs. mtgs @ 7:45pm to share ideas or find out what goes on behind the scenes

  11. All directors are finalized
  12. Director training session after general mtg next wk
  13. Everyone is invited to attend if they have any interest in ever directing a camp
  14. 1st Day Camp is this Fri., Sept. 14
  15. Meet in Gammage parking lot 7:35 for car pool and free breakfast
  16. 4 groups of kids and 4 stations – we try to mix the counselors up according to experience
  17. We eat lunch w/the kids, too
  18. Dos and Don’ts review
  19. *Closed-toe shoes; no sandals
  20. *Future Talks – be positive about college and talk about both

formal and informal parts of the experience

  1. But talk about college whenever the opportunity presents itself, not just during future talks
  2. If kids are not taking it seriously, try to figure out a way to connect with them or turn their jokes into goals
  1. Forks Up!
  2. ASU symbol used at football games
  3. When anyone raises the pitchfork symbol and yells, “Forks up!”, everyone else puts up their pitchforks and stops talking
  4. Hugs
  5. We give each 5th grader a clothespin w/a smiley-face on it on a string and they add beads to the string at each station
  6. T-shirts
  7. Everyone needs to buy a CampSparky t-shirt so the kids know who we are on Fri.
  8. If you absolutely cannot get one by Friday, wear an ASU shirt to identify yourself
  9. If you don’t have an ASU shirt, wear a gray t-shirt
  10. Mock Camp!
  11. Only time/supplies for 2 stations
  12. Now is the time to see what works/does not work, so if you have comments/suggestions, let us know

  3. Even if you can’t come to the camp, you should come to dinner
