Valentines gifts for all and a big welcome and introduction of new parents

Treasurer’s Report:Karie Rinker Teddy Raines, Sealed January statement is available for opening, reviewing, signing, and dating by a non-signing board member, Lora Harrell signed. Umpqua Bank balance as of January 31st, was $20,905.94, Umpqua CD balance as of January 31st was $16,274.41.

Principals Report:Travis Bond announced that there is a new high-cap math teacher, Angie Miles. Bond update: as of now we are 2,375 votes away from meeting the 40% turnout of voters from the last election needed to pass and very close to 60% total yes votes needed to pass. You have until 8 pm tonight to turn in your ballots. Reading I-Ready test results are in and we are 84% towards our year end goal. Great teachers and students are making this possible. Math results still to come

Teacher’s Report:Jodi Church, Teachers: Mrs. Judkins, Mrs. Lomeli, and Mrs. Church are hosting our first annual Math and Science Fair this Thursday. All classes will have a science project board displayed. Mrs. Judkins sent out a sign up genius for help setting up and breaking down tables. The kids from each class will take turns being in attendance to represent and explain their class project. Student Council will be hosting a canned food drive and estimation contest during the fair. This is great experience for the kids for Middle and High School

Math & Science Fair: Mrs. Church, see Teachers Report above

Food Drive:CristiWikstrom, passed out a list of the most wanted foods. You can bring in your food donations until Friday

Partnership Night:CristiWikstrom, next night is at Chipotle on February 27thfrom 3:30 till 7:30. Chipotle donates 50% of sales but you have to tell them you are with Sacajawea

Read Across America:Julie Paradise, flyer went home asking for snacks and volunteer readers. Mrs. Copeland is overseeing the readers and will send out another reminder and call people who volunteered

Carnival: Angela Arnett, event will be held May 19. Email was sent to all past coordinators, still looking for a bingo and bounce house coordinators. Mrs. Judkins is going to do buttons. We typically get 30-40 high school volunteers but still need parents to oversee

Spring Fundraiser: Teddy Raines, March 3rd-17th. A lot of incentives this year from Great American including an opportunity to earn college points that accumulate until you are 18, $250 in sales would equal 2,500 points, not sure of all the details but will look further into it

Jump Rope for Heart: Wendi Stone and CristiWikstrom, tentative total with still some online donations not counted is $4,083.18. Highest amount raised was $750 by Kendra F. in Mrs. Baybado’s class. Thank you to all the volunteers, students, banana donators, and staff especially Mr. Jones. Prizes should arrive sometime in March

Mariners Game:CristiWikstrom got a bit of a late start on this and the few dates that are left have conflicting events. If anyone else would like to take this on that would be great but if not we will be skipping this event this year

Ongoing Committee Reports:

5thGrade Committee:CristiWikstrom, ZukaHaarberg, next licorice and smencil sale will be at lunch time on February 24th. Angela Arnett sending home reminder flyers this Friday and sending reminders to teachers of which kids have purchased prepaid punch cards and how much they have before date of sale

Donations:Angela Arnett, new co-chair Brianna Welburn. CristiWikstrom and Kay Ekeya are helping solicit donations as well. Would like to have all donations in by April if anyone wants to donate or knows someone with a business we would greatly appreciate their support.

Membership: Wendi Stone absent, report on back of agenda, currently we have 132 members. Currently working on the 100% Teacher Membership Award Application that is due March 1st. Winning class for highest membership that ended February 6thwas Mrs. Hoffman. Working with Mrs. Hoffman to determine a fun activity/treat that works with the class and with the theme “growing together”.

Reward Programs:CristiWikstrom, Sara Johnston, latest check from Grocery Outlet was $192.98 which puts us up over $800 this year. Total of all rewards programs income so far is $1768.13. We only have 30 families signed up with the Fred Meyer Rewards Program; please make sure you’re signed up. Coke rewards in coming to an end. Box tops contest in over and is currently being counted. Sacajawea placed 5ttout of 15 schools in the Vancouver Mall My School Rewards for $500! Thank you posters will go up.

Spirit Wear:Justine Warunek-Lane, small order was submitted today, should not have a long turnaround time.

Volunteer Coordinator:Lora Harrell, reaching out to all the new parents who are attending tonight to volunteer. Volunteer forms available. Don’t forget your Valentines gifts!

New Business:

Nominating Committee:Brandi Dyment, we need 3 individual to help select people to serve on next year’s board. You send home flyers, contact interested members, and present recommendations. Calling for volunteers; Julie Hutchins, Tammi Hoffman, and Karen Hall volunteered. Thank you! Mrs. Judkins motioned to approve, motionseconded. Motion passed
