Calendar of Events – Fall Semester

*Sectionals begin the week of September 3rd. Sectionals are weekly for the semester– make sure to know what day you are to attend.Mon. – Gold Vln Sectionals, Tues. – Green Vln Sectionals, Wed. – VA Sectionals, Thurs. VC/BS Sectionals. Sectionals times: 2:45-3:45 pm

*Chamber and Symphony combined rehearsals begin on Thursday, August 29th. Every Thursday from 5-7 p.m. for the Fall Semester.*Some rehearsals will vary in time please check the board for any time changes.*Musical Schedule TBA for Chamber Class.

August

15th and 16th –Summer Orchestra 9am-12 noon

26th– First day of classes

29th –*Chamber/Symphony Rehearsal 3:00-5 p.m.

September

3rd – Sectionals begin this week!

3rd – All violin sectional – due to the Labor Day Holiday on Monday

3rd& 4th - Chamber and Symphony – Region Workshop during class

5th– OPA/Trip Meeting 7 p.m. All parents should plan to attend!

7th – KISD Region/State Workshop 9am- 12 noon at KHS

12th– KFHS Open House

13th – KISD 5th Grade Tour with Chamber & Symphony

14th– OPA Car Wash at McDonald’s on 1960 and Breck Rd.

18th– Last day to sign up for the trip! Payment due

19th – KISD 5th Grade Demonstration Meeting at KF – 7p.m. – Chamber/Symphony Perform

21st– Orchestra Picnic 11-2 pm at CypresswoodPark

21st – Sam Houston String Invitational Time TBA – check website

28th – KISD Region/State Workshop 9am- 12 noon at KHS

October

3rd– OPA Meeting 7p.m.

5th – OPA Costume Party 6-9 p.m. Location TBA

10th -Combined Rehearsals for Fall Concert: 2:45-4pm Everyone,4-4:30 Phil.II/Concert,

4:30-6 pm Chamber Symphony – with Guest conductor

11th-12th –Homecoming!

15th –All violin sectional – due to holiday on Monday

17th – Trip payment due. Chamber/Symphony Rehearsal w/guest. 4:15-7 pm

21st – HS Region Auditions at Doerre Int. 5p.m.

22nd – All violin sectional 2:45-3:45 p.m. for Fall Concert

7th and 8th - Semester auditions for students in Concert and Phil II Orchestras

7th – Lisle Violin Shop Display at KFHS 3-7 pm

7th– OPA Meeting 7 p.m.

14th – Fishburn Violin Shop Display at KFHS 3-7 pm

18th – HS Region Chair Auditions 5 p.m.at Klein HS

20th – Trip payment due

22nd and 23rd – KF hosts Region Orchestra. Friday–5-9p.m and all day Saturday–Helpers Needed

December

4th –Solo Forms Due

5th – All combined rehearsal for Winter Concert 2:45-4 pm Everyone/

4-5 pm Chamber and Symphony

6th – Elementary Tour – All eligible students to perform– all day tour

9th – All violin sectional 2:45-3:45 p.m. for Winter Concert

10th – All viola, cello, bass sectionals 2:45 – 3:45 p.m. for Winter Concert

12th – Winter Concert 7p.m. KFHS Auditorium

16th – Regular Sectionals this week – Ensemble Music Happy Holidays!!

1st – Register for State UIL Solo and Ensemble – special forms/fees apply

10th and 11th – HS String UIL Contest –Location and Times TBA per performing group
