Projection Control: The Extron control panel for this station is located on the table top. The solid, plastic buttons located on each side allow separate projector power ON/OFF cycling and screen up/down control for left and right projectors. The touch panel display buttons labeled DISPLAY 1 and DISPLAY 2 have the same functionality.

A/V Mute: Blanks the projected image(s) and mutes the sound temporarily upon the first press of this button, then restores image(s) and audio upon the subsequent button press. Button will blink yellow while muting

Display 1: Press this button to turn the audience right projector on. The corresponding screen will lower and the touch panel will display icons representing inputs and audio control for this projector.

Display 2: Press this button to turn the audience left projector on. The corresponding screen will lower, and the touch panel will display icons representing inputs and audio control for this projector.

Podium: This button represents the cable cubby where access to VGA, HDMI, and stereo audio (out) is located on top of the lectern. If pressed it displays a choice of inputs for that display screen, which is highlighted in yellow at the top of the screen.

Desktop computer: This button selects the resident PC image and sound to be sent to the respective display (highlighted in yellow at the top of the screen). The PC is located in the equipment rack in the podium, and uses the power on/off button on the front of the computer to engage it. Please find the mouse on top of the lectern, and the keyboard on the shelf below. Log onto the BSU network with your BSU credentials.

Laptop: Connections are located inside the black cubby on the desktop. Plug in the needed cables. Network (LAN) cable, VGA video and stereo audio cables are available. Press laptop button on the Extron paneI. If still no image appears on the screen; press the LCD/CRT key on your laptop while holding down the FN button do this until image appears on local screen and large screen. An HDMI cable is provided in the cable cubby on the desktop. Use this if you have HDMI on your laptop and press HDMI on the Extron touch panel to display.

DOC CAM: The document camera is located on the top of the teaching station. It can display printed matter, transparencies, and objects. To raise or fold the camera arm, pull the grey ring towards you slightly until the unit bends or straightens. Make sure the camera is pointed downward towards the media and is on (in most instances the unit will turn on automatically when selected). Press the DOC CAM button on the Extron controller to display the image on the projector.

DVD/VCR: This button selects the DVD/VCR portion of the combination player located in the equipment rack below. It will route image and sound to the respective display (highlighted in yellow at the top of the screen). A series of controls for the DVD/VCR player will appear on the touch panel screen, including a power button. Please manually load the DVD disc or vhs tape. Please load the tape first. Cable channel selection is available through the CH+ and CH- buttons, as well as an input toggle via the VCR/TV button (the VCR defaults to CH 1). Optional DVD playback: Place the DVD in the computer’s CD/DVD ROM drive tray and the appropriate software should start up automatically. If it does not, double-click the ‘DVD Player’ icon, or find an applicable program in Program Files. Choose PC as the input for projection.

Audio Controls: Pressing this button will display volume controls for program audio and microphone(s). This button represents the cable cubby where access to a 3.5mm stereo audio connector is located for use with laptops or portable media players. It will route this audio to the wall speakers. Sound level from the various inputs (except microphones) may be raised or lowered via the black knob located on the front of the Extron control panel. A blue bar graph indicator shows relative volume, and the knob functions best when turned slowly. Volume should be set at about the halfway mark, and ensure that volumes are turned up at least to 75% on external devices such as computers, players, etc. The microphone volume is located on the AUDIO CONTROL menu.

Lectern Microphone: is muted by default, and must be un-muted through the AUDIO CONTROL menu, which is visible when the AUDIO CONTROL button is pressed.
