Target Audience

This program has been designed for physicians, fellows, residents, medical students, physician assistants, pharmacists, occupational therapists, respiratory therapists, professional nurses, advanced practice nurses, nursing students, psychologists, administrators, researchers, social workers, case workersin the medical specialties of internal medicine, hospice and palliative care, pediatrics, physical medicine and rehabilitation, psychiatry and neurology, radiology, cardiovascular and transplant surgical specialties.

Series Educational Objectives

After completing this activity, participants should be able to:

• Use critical thinking skills and develop insight about how to interpret and critique health care research and integrate findings into clinical practice
• Establish an interprofessional forum for staff from various clinical areas to network, learn from each other and discuss practice issues and incorporate evidence-based practice
• Provide interprofessional forum that provides a review of disease management and integration of palliative care
• Review holistic practices for palliative care patients and families such as art therapy and spiritual care

After completing this activity, participants should be able to:

• Identify how specific neurological deficits affect the quality of life in brain tumor patients
• Learn specific symptom management skills to better care for brain tumor patient

Accreditation
