# Big Donegal Clean-Up ‘18

The Council wishes to promote each clean up taking place in the #Big Donegal Clean-Up ’18. To do this, the Council will publish details of clean-ups and contact details for organisers, in so far as possible, on its website, social media pages and other media outlets. Organisers may also be contacted for short interviews to help promote their clean-up.

Note: Please ensure that any bags that are collected are left in a safe and easily accessible location for the collection lorry to stop and collect the bags. Please consult with your Local Litter Warden prior to undertaking your clean up to agree a suitable location for dropping the bags.

Guidance Notes

Collection of Clean Up Materials:

Groups organising clean ups can collect bags, gloves and litter pickers from their nearest Council Officeat Lifford, Carndonagh, Dungloe, Donegal Townand Letterkennyduring office hours

Monday – Friday.

Skips:

Skips will only be issued on approval from the Litter Warden from the main Council offices. Those Groups requiring a skip must give the Council at least 10 days notice to allow practical arrangements to be made.

Multiple skips will not be provided unless the area being cleaned is deemed to be in very poor condition and have a large amount of bulky items deposited. A visit from the Litter Warden will be required to assess the site.

Skips will not be left overnight. This is to prevent the deposition of household or commercial waste overnight.
