Below are just some of the attractions available in Lee County.

Auburn University—Walking and driving tours are available for an intimate look at one of Alabama’s oldest universities. Many of the buildings on the expansive 1,900-acre campus are listed in the National Register of Historic Buildings.

Historic Downtown Opelika—Museums, shops and dining are a few of the highlights you’ll find here. Historical markers tell the city’s story. Lee County Courthouse, built in 1896, and the fully renovated Opelika Train Depot are also located downtown. The city’s Northside Historic District features numerous homes from the late 1800s.

The Lee County Historical Society Museum—Ten acres of restored buildings housing artifacts and fascinating exhibits. Located in Loachapoka, Alabama.

Pebble Hill—Home of the Auburn University Center for the Arts and Humanities, this opulent residence was built in 1847.

Tiger Trail of Auburn—Historic markers throughout Auburn’s downtown district celebrate the proud legacy of Auburn University’s athletic program, including legendary players and coaches.

Toomer’s Corner—The traditional gathering place for students and fans during football season in Auburn. Each fall, this sector of the city’s downtown area comes alive with victory celebrations. Toomer’s Drugstore, located at the center of the action, is a great place for soda fountain snacks, famous Toomer’s lemonade and Auburn University gear.

Chewacla State Park—The county’s only state park featuring 696 acres of scenic beauty. Family fun amenities include a 26-acre lake, rental boats, swimming areas and hiking trails.

SurfSide Water Park—This water park is open during the summer season and features a 450,000-gallon wave pool, speed slides, body flumes and a huge area tailored for young children.
