Target Audience:
This course is intended for physicians and other healthcare professionals whose primary focus is in the assessment and treatment of cardiovascular emergencies.
Course Pre-Requisite:
A pre-requisite for the course is a current American Heart Association BLS certification. A copy of a valid AHA BLS card must be provided with course registration.
Course Objectives:
Participants attending the Advanced Cardiac Life Support course will:
1)Increase their ability to treat cardiac arrest situations, cardiac arrhythmias and acute myocardial infarctions
2)Qualify for certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support by the AHA
Upon successful completion of written examination and performance testing, participants will be certified by the American Heart Association as ACLS Providers for two years.
On-Line Training:
Skills validation is available in coordination with scheduled ACLS courses.Participants must complete skills validation within 60 days of online completion. Registrants must submit $100.00, a copy of a current AHA BLS Card, copy of the on-line test completion and attend the megacode practice session. A hands-on megacode must be successfully completed in order to earn a Provider card. The American Heart Association’s “HeartCode ACLS” is the only on-line computer program that Beaumont recognizes.

Registration deadline:
Registrations and all accompanying documentation and fees must be receivedno later than 14 days prior to each course. Registrations received without required documentation (copies of BLS and ACLS certification and/or payment) will not be processed until all fees and required documentation is received.

Books:
Fees include the AHA ACLS textbook for Non-Beaumont Employee Provider Course participants. All students must have the 2010 AHA ACLS textbook at class. Participants without a book will be dismissed. Books are available to purchase for $45.00, or are available to borrow from the hospital library.
Parking:
Non-Royal Oak employees should park in the South Parking Deck. Royal Oak employees must park in an employee parking deck or surface lot.

Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations prior to the registration deadline (14 days prior to course) will receive a refund, however, course materials must be returned in their original condition or a fee will be deducted. Cancellations made after the deadline or a No Show will result in no refund. We reserve the right to cancel up to 30 days prior to the start of the course.
