The Jaguar’s flag team capped off a perfect 2007 road record of 4-0 with a nice win over the much improved Wagner Jr Thunderbirds. The game was very competitive and brought out the best in both teams. The fans for both teams were very much into the game and due to the late start, many other people were able to watch what is some of the best football that TYFA has to offer on any Saturday. Congratulations to both teams for a well played game and demonstrating outstanding sportsmanship.
The Jaguars teams saw the defense return to its dominating form as they managed to shut out the T-birds and only give up two first downs all day. The Defensive line provided constant pressure in the backfield while the Defensive Backs secured the corners and kept the plays in front of them all day long. This was one of the best Defensive efforts from the Jaguars all season long and the energy was definitely present.
The Jaguars offense moved the ball pretty well against the T-birds in the first half with some great inside runs and short passes. The outside running game came around in the second half and allowed the Jaguars to move the chains while also keeping the clock moving. The Offensive line played well and a lot of boys got a chance to play in order to show what they have learned throughout the season. The Quarterbacks wanted to throw the ball more but it just wasn’t needed so maybe next week guys.
All of the boys got a chance to play, which is always a good thing. Some of them really showed some promise as well, which was nice to see. Next week the Jaguars take on the rival Judson Jr Rockets for the final 2007 regular season home game. This will definitely be a hard fought game between two very determined and competitive teams. What better way to end the regular season than with a Big Time – “Rumble in the Jungle”.
