JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: / Business Development Manager (Field Sales)
REPORTS TO / Sales Manager
RESPONSIBLE TO: / Sales Manager
PURPOSE: / To promote and represent the company in accordance with our Vision, Mission and Core Values.
To conduct appointments (and sometimes presentations) with suspect and prospect customers with the aim of securing new business.
To contract with new business and secure the start of individual Apprenticeship frameworks to meet individual and team targets.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Achieving new business and renewals/up selling through effective telesales/cold calling
  • Visiting potential clients against appointment schedules
  • Planning and preparing presentations
  • Prepare and deliver proposals as necessary in line with Company standards
  • Ensure all proposals issued are followed up and closed down, report accordingly
  • Update sales administrator following new sales and account management visits
  • Answer customer queries regarding the service or products and bring any un resolved issue to the attention of the Sales Manager
  • Through the above activities, meet targets and complete sales records weekly and accurately
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the team objectives at all times
  • Promote the company in a positive manner at all times

CRITERIA / ESSENTIAL / DESIRABLE
Knowledge / Good product knowledge of the training environment
Strong commercial awareness
Good understanding of telesales/cold calling
Knowledge of existing competitors in the marketplace / Track record of working with both public and private sector to achieve sales targets
Knowledge of sales strategies
Skills and abilities / Excellent communication and Presentation skills
Be able to secure new business via telesales & cold calling
The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Resilience and the ability to cope with rejection
A high degree of self – motivation and drive
Good organisational and time-management skills
Good negotiation skills
Problem solver
Experience / Sales background including telesales and face to face
Selling bespoke and Apprenticeship programs
Experience working in a training environment
Customer satisfaction / Marketing experience
Use of a Customer Relations Management systems
Understanding of the functional responsibilities in satisfying external bodies/authorities
Experience in Proposal writingDesktop Publishing

Academic and Professional Qualification / No formal educational requirements / Good level of Education with a minimum of 5 GCSE’s or similar.
Good overall product knowledge Formal IT qualifications to include excel, word, PowerPoint and outlook.
Marketing qualifications
Welsh Language skills / The ability to work in the medium of welsh
