BCWCA 2014 GIRLS TENNIS TOURNAMENT ENTRY FORM

3) Groupings: As in years past the tournament will be played in two flights. We will divide the schools as per the committee this year. Seedings will be based on various factors this year: strength of schedule, previous records, present records and rankings, etc…
4) Sites:Opening Day matches will be played at separate sites.
GROUP A – Northern Valley Old Tappan
GROUP B – Northern Valley Demarest
Second Day matches will be played at the same location.
GROUP A & B – NV-OT
5) Roster: Please email your roster toMatt Wind by September 22nd. Include any pertinent information about your players (age, USTA ranking, etc).
6) Seeding:Any coach may attend the seeding meeting. The meeting will begin at 7:30 pm on Monday, September 22ndat Leonia high School in the Cafeteria (back parking lot). Food will be served!
7) Rain:In case of rain you will be called at home by 6:30 am
8) Start Time:Assume that we will begin at 8:00 am
9) Draw Sheet: The draw sheet will be posted on the BCWCA website and will be emailed

BCWCA Girls Tennis Tournament Information and Rules
1) Qualifications:Any high school in BergenCounty that fields a Girls Varsity Tennis Team is invited to enter. 3 singles players and 2 doubles teams compete for each school.
Each coach must submit the State Challenge Match Form at the seeding meeting. If the coach or assistant coach is not at the meeting the tournament director must be in possession of this form prior to the seeding meeting.
Players need to be active members of the roster and should have played in the majority of the teams matches by the start of the first day of the tournament.
2) Description: Each team position will compete with others of the same position. Winners will continue to compete until a champion is reached in each group.
3) Substitutions:NJSIAA Tennis Rules regarding substitutions will prevail. (Exceptions: A coach may choose to leave a position absent)
4) Sign-In: Every player must report to the court assignment tables 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of her first match with her coach or team representative. (Default time will be 15 minutes from the starting time)
5) Warm-Up: Before each match there will be a 10 minute warm-up (Coaches should help with this)
6) Scoring: Ad scoring and a 12 point tie-breaker will be used if the set score is 6-6. Both winners and losers must report their final match scores to the scorer’s table. (Winning players will be advised with regard to their next matches at this time)
7) Breaks:There will be a 3 minute on court break between sets 1 and 2. There will be a 10 minute off court break between sets 2 and 3
8) Coaching:Coaching is permitted during odd game changeovers and between sets. Only the team coach or the team representative is allowed to coach players.
9) Spectators:Applauding is acceptable for a point that has been well played. Verbal comments, by spectators, teammates or coaches, WILL NOT BE PERMITTED. If a player believes that spectators are interfering with her play, she should stop and contact her coach to resolve the situation. Tournament personnel will have the authority to take steps to maintain the ethical standards for the BCWCA tournament.
10) Balls: New balls are provided for each match. They are to be picked up at the scorer’s table prior to the match and returned there after the match is completed.
11) Linesmen:If a player feels a linesmen is necessary, both coaches should be summoned and a determination made at that time.
12) Injury Time: A girl may take 15 minutes of accumulated injury time, provided the AT states that this is the result of an injury as opposed to lack of conditioning.
13) Bathroom Breaks: A girl is allowed 1 bathroom break per match.
14) Team Scoring:Teams will be awarded 1 point for each victory in the regular rounds in each position. Preliminaries are omitted from this scoring. One team point will be deducted for any defaulted match. Team Championships will be awarded to the teams who compile the greatest number of points in their respective Group.
15) Sportsmanship:Every coach and player is expected to demonstrate the most ethical conduct. Any flagrant behavior, i.e. throwing any object, making obscene gestures, using obscene language, unnecessarily loud or distracting talking to oneself, abusive or distracting comments to a partner, an opponent, or a spectator, may result in a default and a loss of a team point. If the infraction occurs at the termination of the match and is committed by the winner, she will default the match and lose the team point. Should the infraction be committed by the loser, her team shall lose one point.
These standards will be strictly enforced by the tournament officials. Appreciation of a point that has been well played should only be acknowledged through applause. Please refrain from vocal displays of enthusiasm in deference to the other players and fans.
16) Awards: Awards will be presented to the winner and runner up in each position championship, the team awards will be presented to the teams accumulating the most points in their respective Tournaments on the final day of the BCWCA Tournament.

Turn East and continue till the end of the road.
Turn left onto Rivervale Road and then make the first right on Old Tappan Road
Continue on Old Tappan Road for about 2 miles to Central Ave (Bi-State Plaza will be on your left)
Turn Right onto Central Plaza
Tennis Courts are ½ mile ahead on the right. Parking is adjacent to the courts in the high school lot.

Kinderkamack Road
Take Kinderkamack Road and go East onto Old Hook Road
Continue East onto Knickerbocker Road, turning right onto Knickerbocker Road and proceeding to the tennis courts that will be on the right.
The parking area is located across the street at the school.
