Conditions of Entry

Bonanza tournaments are aimed at social players who play for fun but would like a chance to play competitively against different people, and low to medium level league players looking for increased competition. Bonanza tournaments are also a useful stepping-stone to county organised open tournaments for players who wish to advance to a high competitive level.

  1. Players who have represented their county at any time in the Inter-County Championship (ICC), or have been a member of any National Squad in any country are not eligible to compete in the Yehlex Bonanza.Adults who have played league badminton are not eligible. Juniors who have a BADMINTON England grading (1, 2, or 3) are not eligible.
  2. Players within the adult events must be 16years of age or olderon the date of the tournament.
  3. Players who have played league badminton are not eligible to enter any social category events.
  4. Both players in a doubles event must submit an entry form with the appropriate fees (photocopies will be accepted). Players entering ‘partner wanted’ will be paired if a partner and places are available.
  5. The referee reserves the right not to hold an event if insufficient entries are received and to limit numbers.
  6. Please arrive and be ready to play in your event at least half an hour before the scheduled start time.
  7. You will be notified at the latest by the Wednesday prior to the event if your entry has NOT been accepted due to over subscription or insufficient entries.If you receive no such notification by this date please contact the tournament secretary. Sue Biscoe 01872 242293.
  8. All events will be played in groups with winners going through to a knockout stage. If there is only one group, no knockout stage will be played.
  9. Yehlex feathered shuttlecocks will be used.
  10. Unless stated all events shall be 1 game to 21, with no setting. Rally points scoring will be used.
  11. Entries must be submitted by the closing datewith the correct entry fee to the secretary listed. Cheques or postal orders must be made payable to ‘CornwallCounty Badminton Association’. Please do not post cash.
  12. The referee reserves the right to change any of the conditions above. Their decisions in all matters are final.
