PE ESSAY- ROUGH DRAFT

In the past, PE has been mandatory in middle school. Today, however, some people think that Physical Education should be eliminated from the curriculum. PE is important and should be required in middle school.

However, some people may argue that as kids start getting older, their bodies are not as conditioned as before and they will get injured more often while participating in PE. But, teachers are experienced in teaching Physical Education, and they are trained in preventing injuries. Also, when students use protective gear injuries are less likely to occur. All of these preventative actions will help keep all students safe. Even though PE can seem harmful, there are many ways to prevent injuries while students benefit from PE.

The exercise in PE keeps middle school students healthy. Exercises work students’ hearts and make them stronger. It is challenging to complete these healthy building exercises at home but is easier when given time to complete at school. PE is a good way for students to get their daily exercise. It is obvious that PE keeps middle school kids healthy.

PE teaches students how to play new sports that they can enjoy outside of school with their friends. Students learn multiple sports like soccer, football, softball, volleyball, and hockey. Learning these sports gets kids outside playing at home, instead of inside watching TV or playing video games. Parents are grateful that their children are outside playing more. New sports that students learn to play in PE are also played at home.

PE encourages teamwork that can be used in the future. Teamwork builds trust so that others will want to choose these young adults for future events. If students learn to get along with others, getting a job will be easier. Students need to learn the importance of teamwork so they can get along with future bosses and coworkers. Teamwork that middle school students learn in PE will help them in the future.

I want to persuade my reader that PE should be required in middle school. Because it helps keep students healthy, teaches them new sports, and encourages teamwork. In the final analysis, PE is a very important part of middle school.
