Head Boy and Head Girl Report
This week has been a fantastic week in school and we are also looking forward to science week as we have many things planned for it. On Wednesday Foundation stage performed an impressive Worship (especially for their age.) On Thursday the new head teacher from Carr Hill came to visit us in Year 6. Miss Hosker told us about an imaginary thankful coat in her Worship. Hopefully you have been thankful this week and put on your imaginary thankful coat just like Miss Hosker said!

Birthdays –Happy Birthday to Ralfs Bukovskis and Oliver Thackery.

Attendance Award – Foundation Stage won the attendance award for the Autumn Term and today they were treated to a session playing on a Boucy Castle in the hall. All the children had a fantastic time. Look out for their pictures on the website.

House Points Award – Last half term Lune House won the house points award and have today enjoyed their DVD biscuits and juice reward in the hall with Mrs Astbury.

New Parent Governor - Congratulations to Mr Bagley who has been selected to become our new parent governor. We look forward to welcoming you as part of the strategic leadership team.The Governing Body work hard to maintain and improve our school for the benefit of the children. Thank you for your voluntary support.

Online Safety Day – Wednesday 3rd February. We will be using the whole day to give our children key messages regarding how to keep safe online, how to deal with cyber-bullying, and much more information. It is vital that as parents you too are aware of how to keep your children safe. It is easier to do this at school due to the restricted access to mobile devices. At home do make sure that your parental controls and restrictions are efficient and that you know what your children are accessing.

Junk Modelling in Year 1

If anyone has any card board boxes to spare please could we have them in Year 1? We are hoping to make cars and tractors as part of our topic. Thank you!

Film Club

There will be no film club on Monday 1st of February. This is just for one week as Mrs Panther and our school council are meeting with governors to discuss improving the playground.

Easter Playscheme

Newton Bluecoat school is running a holiday club on 29th,30th and 31st March and 1st,4th-8th April 2016. There are leaflets available in the school office with more information or call the school on 01772 684415.
