Art and commercial development: Enterprise Office Center showcases sculptures by Michal Gabriel made using 3D printing technology

Prague, 26thApril 2016:Prague’s new landmark, Enterprise Office Center, has art embedded directly in its DNA.Not only did a jury of experts rank it among the TOP 100 office buildings in the world at the prestigious architectural competition, MIPIM– it is currently offering a unique experience to all visitors in its generously designed and publicly accessible glass foyer: an exhibition of sculptures by Michal Gabriel, one of the top current Czech sculptors.Titled Proměny(Transformations), the installationpresentsclassic figural sculptures, a group of “riders” and also sculptures made using 3D printing technology.

“We believe that art enriches our lives, evokes a pleasant atmosphere for our tenants and their employees and provides an inspiring environment for trade partners, contractors and all visitors,” saysTomáš Velemínský, Executive Manager of Erste Group Immorent, the company behind the Enterprise Office Center project. “The most vital thing is for people to feel good at Enterprise; to sense that the building they work in or live next door to is part of something interesting and inspiring where things happen all the time. This is why the exhibit of MichalGabriel’s sculptures is one of our first events intended to enliven the entrance area of the Enterprise,” adds Tomáš Velemínský.

“The Transformations exhibitionnot only expresses a change in sculptural approaches and trends – 3D printing and its use in contemporary art – but also the transformation of the space itself. We are showing the sculptures inside a beautiful building in a very special interior.I wish that there were more investors like this who include art in their projects. While this does not generate direct profits for them, it brings values that are indispensable in life. This is a very important decision in the present times when fewer and fewer people come to galleries,”says sculptor Michal Gabriel.

The naturalcombination of tasteful architecture and art can make the premises at Enterprise (and the adjacent park) a new gallery, as the architectural design envisaged boththe permanent inclusion of various works of art and short-term exhibits, aiming to enrich Prague’s culture with contemporary works of art interacting with modern architecture.

“I appreciate art becoming an integral part of the interiors at the Enterprise Office Center. The developer will enhance the perception of the building as an area that is both beautiful and credible. The lobby, the adjacent corridors and the attractive and publicly accessible foyerare turning into a consistently designed gallery, proving the developer’s culture and sophistication,” says gallerist Ondřej Škarka.

According to a recent International Art Consultants/British Council for Offices study, nine out of ten companies believe that the presence of art will make their working environment more pleasant, and six out of ten believe that art enhances employees’ creativity. A full 54% of the respondent companies confirm the benefits of art in defining their corporate values.
