AP-Civil War Battles Project

Directions: In groups of two, you will cover aCivil Warbattle & one other topic from the Civil War from the perspective of a historian. For this project, you will need to research, create, and present your project to the class. Presentations will be no less than 5 minutes. This project will be worth 50 pts.

Choose your Product: PowerPoint, Prezi, Documentary, Podcast…it’s up to you. I am open to other suggestions but you must get it approved.

Choose your Partner: Presentations must show equal participation.

Choose your Topics: First come, first served. No duplicate projects. I am open to other battles and events but you must get them approved. You must choose a battle and another Civil War topic from the lists.

Project Requirements:

1. Topic Page

2. Dates

3. Location(s) Must include at least one Map to show and explain to the class.

4. Officers in charge (both sides)

5. Synopsis of the Battle (Minimum two slides, pages, etc. Be thorough)

6. Major strategic moves, turning points or actions, depending on your project.

7. Outcome of the Battle: Who won and how they won. What were the casualties and effects.

8. Include and eye witness account using a primary source such as a soldier or generals journal or a newspaper etc.

9. 2 Photographs

10. Complete discussion of your other Civil War topic with at least one photograph and primary source account on the topic.

11. Must cite your sources.
