The districts can now add two new types of contacts to the Education Data System (EDS): Counselors and Teaching and Learning (district curriculum leaders).

Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) has released an updated EDS Administrator User Guide and Policy document that includes instructions for District Data Security Managers on how to assign these new contacts.

To receive these communications, District Data Security Managers must access the EDS Administration application and select Edit Directory Info. This page allows District Data Security Managers to select the “Add Counselor” and “Add Teaching and Learning” button to add these contacts to the school or district. This is the same area where Superintendents or Principals contacts are added.

Please note: Users cannot individually add these designations – the designation must be performed by the District Data Security Manager (a public list of each District Data Security Manager is available online at our website:
