Press release – The ninth ATA conference and youth convention kick-off and fundraising tour in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, CA – The ninth ATA conference and youth convention kick-off and fundraising tour in Los Angeles will be held at the Tandoor cuisine of India restaurant. This invitation for the press conference is to introduce the men and women in charge of the convention and present the plans for conference programs.

The event will start with a tour of the convention center, adhoc committee meeting, organizing committee meeting and the press conference before dinner.This event will bring in more energy and enthusiasm into the already energized men and women involved in ninth ATA conference and youth convention, along with informing members and other interested people the plans for the convention.

The event will be attended by the President of ATA, Dr. Mohan Mallam, Conference Convener, Mr. Dharma Reddy Gummadi, President of Telugu Association of Southern California (TASC), Mr. Mallik Banda, co-convener, Mr. Bucchi Reddy, Local Coordinator, Mr. Lakshman Koka, newly selected conference chairs and board of directors & trustees of ATA.

Telugu association of southern California is cohosting the ninth ATA conference and youth convention to be held in Long Beach on Jun30- Jul 2, 2006 at the Long Beach convention center

ATA Mission

To serve the people of Telugu origin in the North America.

To promote exchange programs for students, scientists, and professionals of Telugu origin between the United States of America, Canada and India as well as other countries.

To perpetuate, preserve, and maintain the heritage of the people of Telugu origin.

To assist and promote literary, cultural, educational, religious, social, economic, health and community activities of the people of Telugu origin.

To invite distinguished Telugu scholars, artists, artisans, and statesmen to America for lectures, seminars, and congregations.

To solicit, raise, and disburse funds for charitable purposes, cultural, religious and educational activities directly or in cooperation with other not-for-profit organizations of America to meet the aforementioned.

To assist people of Telugu origin in need and aid newly arrived Telugu's to settle in America.

To organize periodic Telugu literary, educational, youth, and cultural conferences, either independently or in cooperation with the Telugu or other associations.

To serve Telugu communities across the nation, addressing mainly the issues faced by them in the mainstream society.
