ALLAMUCHY SCHOOL PTO MEETING MINUTES – November 16, 2017

Paula Waeschle,President, called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m. in Room 149 at the Allamuchy Township School.

Present: 12 members were present, including 6 officers.

Treasurer's Report

Tiffany Ulch, Treasurer, presented the Treasurer's Report

Tiffany discussed balance as of 11/16 $35,442.16

Secretary’s Report

Jennifer Nascimento, Secretary, presented minutes from 9/21/17 meeting

New Business

A. Grant Requests

  1. Michelle Stassi(2nd Grade/Resource)/ Sarah Mikaliunas(PSD) requested Laminating Sheets 2 boxes for each teacher $93.54
  2. Michelle Stassi (2nd Grade) Black Lagoon Chapter Book set $40.
  3. Sarah Mikaliunas (special Ed resource room) Various book for transitioning new students $12, Pocket Foam Blocks $19.95, CD Player $24.99,

B. Holiday Shoppe-still in need of Chairperson for 2018. Melinda Freedley offered to chair. She will reach out to Gina current chair to work out transition

C. Paula presented Scrip Gift Card Fundraiser. Paula will Chair. On line only event. Flyers to go home. Big Facebook push.

D. Fundraiser ideas for the rest of the year discussed. Future discussions needed.

Old Business

  1. Battle of the Books Teams-$200 each team-Paige to follow up with teams
  2. Book Fair-Lori will follow up w possibility of combining Fall/Holiday book fairs and see if we have earned enough to still give Buy One Get One Fair in June

Committee Reports

Trunk or Treat- Jen Nascimento advised it was held on Friday Oct 29 at MVS. Huge success. 250 kids and 37 trunks participated. Fran Muhlenbruch/Paige Schmiedekecoordinated Peanut Free options for all trunks.

Open Discussion/Idea Exchange/Suggestions

Tabitha Dombroski advised that 10 Engineers from Picatinny have been background checked and provide and fund a STEM assembly. Jen Gallegly is working w Tabitha to move this forward.

Secretary will ensure minutes and agenda will be posted prior to next meeting

Paige advised Jim McCloskey, Author in Residence, will present “We Dig Worms” for MtnVilla in Late Spring. Holly Guido will find presenters for grades 3-5 and 6-8 @ATS
