ADN 630 Independent Study in Art and Design

COURSE JUSTIFICATION

This course provides the opportunity for graduate students in art and design to engage in independent study with selected faculty members in art and design; to move outside the concentrations of the program; and to tap the expertise of other faculty in the Department or the College for specific information, projects, and interactions. It provides access to expertise which is not available in regularly scheduled classes. Students will contact appropriate faculty members directly; formulate a plan of work and a schedule; be responsible for making appointments with the faculty member; work independently; and be responsible for completing the work contracted. Grading will be pass/fail .

None. ADN630, like its undergraduate counterpart, will be listed in multiple sections, one for each faculty member in the Department of Art and Design. No new faculty will be required.

Course: ADN 630 Independent Study in Art and Design

Instructor: All faculty in Department of Art and Design

Description:

This course provides the opportunity for graduate students in art and design to engage in independent study with selected faculty members in art and design; to move outside the concentrations of the program; and to tap the expertise of other faculty in the Department or the College for specific information, projects, and interactions. It provides access to expertise which is not available in regularly scheduled classes. Learning outcomes:

At the end of the semester, students will have:

1. Completed a project independently under individual faculty supervision..

2. Ability to complete an independent project.

Grading policy:

The course grade will be based on criteria established by mutual agreement between the student and the faculty member.
