Administrative Code (Real Time)

Question

[submitted byVirginia5/7/08]

I'm doing some research into how many states have real time (updated daily so that current to the day) administrative codes. If your state has a real time administrative code, could you let me know?

Responses (from 14 states)

  • Arizona[reply submitted5/7/08]

Here in sunny Arizona our Admin. Code is released quarterly and the Admin. Register is done on a weekly basis.

  • California[reply submitted5/8/08]

California is not real time. The print version and online version of our code are updated once weekly.

  • Colorado[reply submitted5/8/08]

Colorado's process is similar to Delaware's and Oregon's. Our online Code is current, and depending on our production schedule, future versions are generally available to view before their effective date. Our Register is published monthly. Grammatical errors and nonsubstantive changes are made as needed manually.

  • Delaware[reply submitted5/7/08]

Delaware does but it is not automatic. Our Register is published monthly, therefore, the Administrative Code is updated monthly. Grammatical errors and nonsubstantive changes are made as needed manually.

  • Idaho[reply submitted5/7/08]

In Idaho, our Code is a real time Code. All rules on our website are the most current available.

  • Maine[reply submitted5/7/08]

It happens that today the Code is real time because I'm caught up, but most often it has not been so and probably I'll have a backlog situation again.

  • Michigan[reply submitted5/7/08]

Yes, it’s updated daily in Michigan….in fact, several times per day, as necessary.

  • New York[reply submitted5/8/08]

New York does not have a real time code.

  • Oklahoma[reply submitted5/7/08]

Wow . . . that would be impressive (speaking for those of us in Oklahoma, anyway). So, the answer is . . . Oklahoma does not have a real timeadministrative code.

  • Oregon[reply submitted5/7/08]

My answer for Oregon is very much like Delaware's. We also follow our Register publication schedule - published on the first of each month. We update the Administrative Code on the first of each month as well. This is not an automatic process. We correct errors and make nonsubstantive changes to the on-line Code as needed. These corrections and the monthly updates are made manually.

  • Pennsylvania[reply submitted5/8/08]

In Pennsylvania, our Code is updated monthly and the register is weekly. Print is the "official" version, so electronic reflects the print version.

  • Rhode Island[reply submitted5/8/08]

Our agencies file their rules and regs electronically and in paper with my office. Once they are filed, the database reflects the information immediately so that is real time. However, the online database is not the "official" version of our Code. That's the print version from Lexis Nexis, and that is definitely not real time.

  • Tennessee[reply submitted5/7/08]

Yes, in Tennessee the code as well as the Register is real time

  • Texas[reply submitted5/7/08]

The Texas Administrative Code is real time.
