THE FACTS

adidas and the Golden State Warriors have partnered to develop the first modern short sleeve NBA uniforms – the adizero NBA short sleeve uniform system. Designed and developed by adidas, the system is the Golden State Warriors’ lightest uniform to date – 26 percent lighter than current versions. The system was designed and developed to provide optimum performance, fit and style for players. It is the newest development in the line of adidas basketball innovations that unite performance and style for players and fans from the court to the street. The uniforms will debut on February 22 when the Warriors play the San Antonio Spurs on ESPN at 10:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. PT.

RESEARCH: adidas researchers and designers found basketball players at all levels often wear short sleeve tops during practice and gameplay to create bold, unique styles that stand out on the court. Collegiate partners, adidas Nations and other grassroots programs participated in the research.

DEVELOPMENT: The NBA and adidas have been committed to forward-thinking and innovation since the inception of their partnership in 2006. Designers worked side-by-side with the Golden State Warriors for more than a year to evaluate and develop the new uniform system, including full team practices.

The system meets adidas and NBA standards and was met with positive feedback from players on fit, performance and comfort.

PERFORMANCE: The uniform system is 26 percent lighter than the Warriors’ standard uniforms. The system is engineered with arm hole insets of 360-degree stretch fabric enabling free range of motion of the arms and shoulders.

The system also features the first-ever stretch woven short that is super lightweight and offers maximum ventilation.

The system is made with 60 percent recycled materials and features a number of adidas’ innovative apparel solutions including:

·  Revolution 30 technology found in current NBA uniforms that was launched in the 2010-11 season – a lightweight uniform system that dries twice as fast to improve performance

·  ClimaCool system with engineered body-mapped zones to provide maximum ventilation and comfort

·  FORMOTION technology that reduces seams to decrease friction between the skin and the jersey, and to optimize natural movement

STYLE ELEMENTS: adidas found that a growing number of basketball players at all levels want to stand out amongst their peers on the hardwood. The bold, fitted and unique style of the adizero short sleeve jersey helps players of all levels stand out on the court. The short sleeve style provides another apparel option for fans to support their favorite players with authentic on-court gear.

UNIFORM DETAILS: The jersey will be used as an alternate home uniform for the Warriors beginning Feb. 22 and will be worn on select dates during the remainder of the 2012-13 season. Features include:

·  Golden yellow base with royal blue trim and understated team crest

·  White/royal blue spear stripe with GS/California logo down the side of jersey/shorts

·  Pin-striped short pattern inspired by Golden Gate Bridge, “W” infused in design of spear and royal trim on collar

ROLL OUT: The Warriors will debut the jerseys when they face off against the San Antonio Spurs on February 22. The game will be televised on ESPN at 10:30 p.m. ET/7:30 p.m. PT and the jerseys will be worn during various games throughout the remainder of the season.

Swingman versions will be priced at $120 and available for pre-sell on NBAStore.com and on WarriorsTeamStore.com, the official online team shop of the Golden State Warriors. Limited Edition Boxed Authentic Jerseys will be available for purchase at the Warriors Team Store inside Oracle Arena beginning Feb. 20.
