Sequence of work including control

Identify : Identification & avoidance of hazards.

Is permit to work required : / Utilising ‘Cheery Picker’ type lift, access high level light fittings, disconnect power and suspension, relocate to main steel frame of building, re-connect to power supply. Disconnect low level power supplies, support at high level above netting.
Falls from heights. All operatives to be licensed to operate lifts, harnesses to be used at all times when operating lift.
Collision when moving lift. Area of operation to be isolated from other workers whilst high level works carried out.
Electrocution from lighting, light units and power drops to be disconnected and proved before disconnection. No live work to be carried out.
Lighting will be provided by the remaining 50% of the existing lighting until repositioning completed.
No hot woks required.

Access equipment to be used:

E.g.: Tower scaffolding, combination ladders, steps. / Two Genie type ‘Cherry Pickers’ to be used with harnesses, lifts will be supplied by Nationwide Access Hire. Contact 02920 497242

Identify statutory tests/examinations of equipment

/ Two Genie Machines.
Nationwide:- 6 monthly independent inspection certificate supplied with machines
Assessments (risk, noise, COSHH)
Identify assessments carried out and control measures to be implemented
Co-ordination required between contractors to control risk
Identify hazardous materials and control measures for COSHH assessments carried out, storage of materials, etc / Risk Assessments attached reference RA 23460
Safety Netters will also be operating on site at high level, not within the same area. Homebase Security also within store, need to be made aware of area of lift operation, lease with Mitie roofing.
No storage of materials on site, both lifts to be stored within the external store yard during normal hours.

Safety of third parties

Identify works which may present a risk to third parties and detail control measures / High level works when relocating light units, area to be cordoned off, no other persons to be working below or in the area of the lifts.

Environmental controls

Identify :
Control of harmful emissions, e.g. noise, dust.
Wind, rain, extremes of temperature.
Procedures for disposal of waste / No harmful emissions or noisy operations taking place during these works.
All works carried out internally, no extremes expected.
No waste created during these works.

First aid and PPE requirements

Identify any additional first aid or PPE requirements, e.g. resuscitator, eye wash, gloves, respirator, hearing protection. / Operatives will use all necessary PPE supplied by the company to safely carry out these works, including but not limited to Safety Shoes, Bump Cap, High Visibility Vest, Fall arrest Harness.

Emergency procedures

Are any additional emergency procedures required, will any existing procedures need changing escape routes, location of extinguishers etc / Operatives to ensure they understand existing emergency procedures within the store and comply with these procedures as requested to do so, also be aware of emergency exits and fire extinguishers. No additional emergency procedures are required.
