About the New Program for Hourly-based Employment Staff

In line with the resolutions "Concerning employment of faculty (or laboratory) secretaries via external funds" and "Concerning employment of persons to engage in research assistance work", passed by the Executive Board of Trustees on May 27, 2015 and March 16, 2016 respectively, the program for hourly-based employment staff has been revised as follows regarding its procedures, etc.

(1)In the employment procedures for  and  above, the document required before start of employment has changed.

In place of the Notification of Working Conditions, an Employment Contract (drawn up at the applicable Research Office) will be concluded between the person employed and the Trust.

In order to conclude the Employment Contract, you will need to fill in and submit the Employment Application Form every fiscal year.

In cases where two or more faculty members employ a single person, a single integrated Employment Contract will beused.

Where it is hard to decide whether the person to be employed falls under  or , be sure to consult the handling person (contact) below at the applicable Research Office beforehand.

(2)For research administrative assistance newly employed from FY2016 only, an hourly wage rate (tax-inclusive) of 900 yen will be uniformly applied. For all other cases, the basic hourly wage rate will be 840 yen as previously, and if it is wished to pay a rate exceeding that, a Statement of Reason must be submitted beforehand.
