About the Institution

Global College of Engineering & Technology, Kadapa (GCET) was established in 2008 with the sole & humble aim of providing quality education at an affordable cost to the rural population within Rayalaseema, in particular, and Andhra Pradesh, in general. GCET spans over 26 acres land with a huge, spacious, infrastructure facilities such as, but not limited to: E-class rooms; Digital library; Modern Laboratories; on-campus Grocery, on-campus Canteens, Hostels etc., in addition to qualified faculty and staff. It currently houses about 1100 students.

GCET currently offer 5 B.Tech, 7 M.Tech, MBA and 5 Diploma programmes. All the Programmes being offered at GCET are either approved by AICTE New Delhi & Affiliated to JNTUA or the SBTET, AP.

About the Department

In GCET the Departments of Electronics and Communication Engineering and Electrical and Electronics Engineering have been in existence since the inception of the Institute during the academic year 2008-09 with an intake approval of 60 students each and at present in ECE intake is increased to 120. The departments offer B.Tech Degree Programme in ECE, EEE, M.Tech degree programs in DECS, VLSI, PS and EPE. The departments have well-qualified faculty members – highly motivated in teaching and guiding the students in exploring newer avenues of Electronics, Communication and Electricals. The departments have state-of-the-art laboratories with advanced software and hardware to facilitate research in major areas of ECE & EEE.

Objective of the workshop

This workshop aims to bring together teachers and students from the different colleges with the goal of fostering interaction among them. The main objective of this programme is to impart the participants with the knowledge about the latest embedded trainer kits such as

MSP430 and TIVA Microcontrollers which have been recently introduced in R13 and R15 regulations of JNTUA, Ananthapuramu.

Topics Covered

Architecture of MSP430 and Microcontrollers.

Interfacing and programming GPIO ports.

Modes of MSP430.

Interrupt programming examples through GPIOs.

PWM based speed control of motors.

MSP430 using ULP advisor in CCS.

Master slave communication between two MSPs.

Basic Wi-Fi Applications.

Applications on MSP.

Target Audience

The program is open to teaching faculty and Students of AICTE approved Engineering Colleges, Research Scholars and Engineers Working in the industry.

Mr. Abhishek Dutta is employed with EdGate Technologies Pvt. Ltd. as Application Engineer. His working areas include MSP430, ARM based microcontrollers, Analog Systems Design and Wireless Design, Real-time operating systems, Networked Embedded systems, Embedded Linux boards.
