Temporary Housing Agreement for New International Students
King’s College recognizes that some international students arrive on campus without having a permanent place to reside. In those cases, King’s College will provide temporary housing to new students only, as available housing allows. Temporary housing is not guaranteed, and should not be expected. In the event that temporary housing is provided, it will be done so with the following conditions:
- Students desiring temporary housing must make arrangements for the housing at least 48 hours in advance of their arrival on campus. If the student is arriving with a spouse, child or family member, the student must make all of that information known at the time of the request, and these requests must be made 72 hours in advance. King’s College will make family accommodations to the best of the College’s ability, but family housing cannot be guaranteed.
- Students who arrive with no notice will not be accommodated, and will need to make arrangements at a local hotel.
- Temporary housing will be provided for a maximum ofseven consecutive nights. The student will pay a rate of $35 per night for their temporary housing. After the seventhnight, the student will be required to sign a housing contract and will be billed the full semester cost of the housing. All charges will be added to the student’s account.
- The student is responsible for all meal costs whileresiding intemporaryhousing.
- The student is responsible for paying for any and all damages that are assessed to the room and shared living area while in temporaryhousing,

College regulations and polices are published in the Student Handbook, College Catalogue and housing contract and related materials.
- If the Office of Residence Life determines that the student is not adhering to College polices for on campus housing or is disruptive to the living environment the temporary housing will be discontinued.
- A student is defined as a person who is registered and attending class on a fulltime basis. The student must be fully deposited with the College before they will be provided housing. A person not currently enrolled is ineligible for temporary housing.
- Students who use temporary housing must know that temporary housing is provided for themselves and their immediate family members only (spouses, children). Friends and other family members are not eligible for temporary housing, and are not permitted to stay overnight with the students.
- A student who does not arrive for their pre-arranged housing will be charged for one night of housing.
- Students are responsible for supplying their own bed linens, pillows, blanket, towels and personal items. The College will not supply these items.
- The housing offered is in a residence hall/dormitory setting. Basic furniture is provided, while bathroom and shower facilities will be shared with other students on the floor. Students should be prepared for the prospect of having a roommate during their stay on campus.
If no beds are available on campus or the student chooses not to accept an available bed offered to them, the Office of Residence Life will provide the student on the local hotels. The student will pay the hotel directly for the cost of the room and all other fees. The student will be responsibly for their own transportation to and from the hotel and all meal costs.
