Who should attend? This seminar is intended for owner-handlers who want to sharpen their handling skills and enhance their dog’s ring readiness and performance. It is intended for people with at least some show handling experience, but you do not have to have extensive experience to attend.

Seminar Fees:

  • Working spots
  • Regular working spot: $125
  • Early bird working spot: $100 (paid in full by early closing date of October 15, 2013)
  • Junior handler (intermediate and up): $80
  • Auditors: $80
  • Accompanying adult with junior handler: $80 (unless registering for working spot)

Other details:

  • Fees include full lunch and light refreshments.
  • Due to limited space, provision for non working dogs will made in an adjacent building. A hard plastic or wire kennel is required – no cloth kennels or Xpensplease.
  • Working spots: limited to 12 dog – handler teams. Auditing spots are also limited due to space.

About Catherine:

Catherine (Kate) McMillan has been active in handling dogs since1980 when she showed her first dog – a Saluki. She quickly fell in love with the Miniature Schnauzer and embarked on her career as a Miniature Schnauzer breeder in 1983. Since then she has bred around 100 Canadian Champions, 40 US Champions as well as champions in South America and the UK. Her dogs have gone on to be the foundations for successful kennels in the USA and Canada. She is an accomplished handler with multiple BIS and BISS wins to her credit.

I agree to indemnify, and hold harmless, HCKOC / Catherine McMillan / Wags to Wishes / Karen McClean, assistants, and agents, from any and all liability, loss, or damage which may be alleged to have been and/or have been caused directly or indirectly to any person, dog, or thing by my act or the act of my dog(s) while in or near the training area, or on the landowner property. I personally assume all responsibility and liability for any such claim. I agree to hold the aforementioned party(ies) harmless for any and all claims for damage or injury to my dog(s), caused or alleged to be caused by actions, or inactions of the aforementioned party(ies), or by the actions or inaction of any other person, dog, or thing, or any other cause or causes.

I understand that the degree to which a dog is successfully trained is a function of the interest, commitment, and actions of the handler. I acknowledge and agree that there is no guarantee that my dog will achieve the desired level of training despite the best efforts of the instructor.

I acknowledge that I have read this Agreement and that I am entering into it voluntarily and with full understanding of the terms contained herein. I further agree that this Agreement is binding for this and all subsequent classes, events, and/or functions I attend.
