PART 1 - GENERAL

1.01 SUMMARY

A. Section Includes: Exit light fixtures.

1.02 SUBMITTALS

A. Shop Drawings: Submit Shop Drawings for the exit lights, lamps, batteries and accessories. Include warranty information with submittal.

1.03 QUALITY ASSURANCE

A. Regulatory Requirements: Fixtures shall be Underwriters’Laboratories (UL) approved for the use intended. Outdoor fixtures shall be UL labeled for wet or damp locations as required for the use intended.

1.Meet requirements of NEC as applicable to installation and construction of lighting fixtures.

2.Meet requirements of UBC as applicable to installation and construction of lighting fixtures.

PART 2 - PRODUCTS

2.01 MANUFACTURERS

A. General Requirements:

1.Products: Subject to compliance with requirements, provide Lithonia ’LES1R‘and ’LES2R‘, or the products specified.

2.02 FIXTURE AND COMPONENTS

a.Matte black cast aluminum housing with brushed aluminum face. Stencil letters shall have red or green background. Verify colors with Architect.

b.Units shall be connected to emergency generator as shown on Drawings.

c.Invisible arrow knockouts. Provide arrows as directed by Architect.

d.Red optical diffuser.

e.Universal mounting.

f.120/277 volt operation.

g.Universal 120/277 volt connection.

h.High intensity LED lamps (included with fixture).

i.Provide wire guards for fixtures in gymnasiums, locker rooms, and shops areas.

j.Snap in wiring connections to allow replacement of components without removing housing.

2.03 LIGHTING FIXTURES

A. Fixture: As shown on Fixture Schedules.

1.Products:As required.

2.Voltage:Universal 120/277 volt connections.

3.Mounting:As required.

4.Lamps:As required.

5.Other Features:As required.

PART 3 - EXECUTION

3.01 INSTALLATION

A. Fixtures: Set level, plumb, and square with ceilings and walls. Install lamps in each fixture.

1.Mount as indicated on Drawings.

3.02 CONNECTIONS

A. Per National Electric Code, connect each exit sign to the emergency lighting circuit in the room that is hooked up to the generator and ahead of the lighting control switches.

3.03 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL

SECTION 26 53 00

A. Inspection: Inspect each installed fixture for damage. Replace damaged fixtures and components.

B. Verification: Verify normal operation of each fixture after installation.

C. Test for Exit Signs: Interrupt power supply to demonstrate proper operation. Verify normal transfer to the generatorpower source and retransfer to normal.

D. Corroded Fixtures: During warranty period, replace fixtures that show any signs of corrosion.
