A RESOLUTION Adjourning the Senate in Loving Memory and Honor of William E. Bill Woizeschke

A RESOLUTION adjourning the Senate in loving memory and honor of William E. "Bill" Woizeschke.

With deepest respect and admiration, we pay homage and tribute to William E. "Bill" Woizeschke, and we pause in silent reverence for his soul.

WHEREAS, William E. Woizeschke was born on May 6, 1926, a native of Reese, Michigan, and he traversed these earthly bounds on December 5, 2001; and

WHEREAS, William E. Woizeschke was the loving son of the late Elmer and Evelyn Massoll Woizeschke; he was the devoted husband of 54 years to Rose Parrent Woizeschke; he was the loving father and father-in-law of Susan K. and Daniel Thayer of Georgetown, Kentucky, and of Mary Ruth and Louis Pierce of Reese, Michigan; he was the proud "Papa" to his grandchildren, Damon and Carrie Thayer, Dena and Shane Kilpatrick, Michele and Daniel Hernandez, Jay Pierce, Leslie and Justin Kern, and Louis Pierce III; and he was the proud "Papa" to his great-grandchildren, Spencer, Daniel, Case, and Katie; and he also leaves behind a loving brother and his wife, Roy and Dolores Woizeschke of Reese, Michigan; and two loving sisters and their husbands, Lorraine and Jack Thompson of Carmichael, California; and Louise and Gerald Reinsch of Interlochen, Michigan; he also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews; and

WHEREAS, William E. Woizeschke served his country with pride and distinction in the United States Air Force from 1944-1946; and

WHEREAS, William E. Woizeschke began his career as manager of a Standard Oil gas station; he then was employed by his brother in the body shop business, and later was in partnership with his brother in a boat and motor sales business; and he was employed with the Frankenmuth Mutual Insurance Company, retiring as a senior adjuster; and

WHEREAS, William E. Woizeschke was an active and involved citizen in the Reese, Michigan community; he was a past Tuscola County Justice of the Peace, Mayor of the Village of Reese, Auxiliary Policeman in Reese, a member of the Reese-Blumfield Fire/Rescue Station #1, and he was a member of Reese American Legion Post #139; he built, owned, and operated with his wife the Red Dairy Barn in Reese; and he enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and spending 22 splendid winters in Palmetto, Florida; and

WHEREAS, William E. Woizeschke was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, where his funeral service was performed on Saturday, December 8, 2001, with the Reverend Rod J. Vereb officiating, and the Reese American Legion Post #139 presenting full military honors; and

WHEREAS, the passing of William E. "Bill" Woizeschke has left a void that cannot be filled, and he is mourned across the length and breadth of the Commonwealth;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The Senate does hereby express its profound sense of sorrow upon the passing of William E. "Bill" Woizeschke, and extends to his family and friends its most heartfelt sympathy.

Section 2. When the Senate adjourns this day, it does so in loving memory and honor of William E. "Bill" Woizeschke.

Section 3. The Clerk of the Senate is hereby directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Senator Damon Thayer for presentation to the Woizeschke family.
