A RESOLUTION adjourning the House of Representatives in honor and loving memory of John Reynolds "Dusty" Bell.

WHEREAS, Dusty Bell was a son of this Commonwealth, having been born in Paris, Kentucky, on May 23, 1939, the cherished son of the late Reynolds T. and Mary Kathryn "Kitty" Young Bell; and

WHEREAS, Dusty Bell was a graduate of Bourbon County High School who attended the University of Kentucky. He was a Special Deputy with the Bourbon County Sheriff's Office, a farmer, and a retired employee of IBM. He began working with the sheriff's office in January 2003, and he was beloved by those who worked alongside him as a man of integrity, humor, and uncommon kindness. He often worked on Sundays, calmly serving summons and relieving the workload of others. His work with the sheriff's office, both as a steward of the law and as a coworker to those who proudly called him their friend, will be duly missed; and

WHEREAS, Dusty Bell was a proud veteran of the United States Army and a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ); and

WHEREAS, John Reynolds "Dusty" Bell departed this earthly life on February 12, 2014, leaving his family, friends, and an entire community in solemn mourning; and

WHEREAS, Dusty Bell is survived by his beloved wife, Pat Nallinger Bell; his daughters, Betsy Bell and Linda Yost and her husband, Dean; his grandchildren, Thomas Mason, Kitty Claire Mason, Logan Bunch and his fiancée, Hannah Lanter, John Bunch and his wife, Maggie, Nikki Yost, and Eric Bunch and his wife, Allie; his great-grandchild, Jayden Mason; and his sister, Mary Sue Giljam;

NOW, THEREFORE,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky:

Section 1. The members of the House of Representatives, both individually and collectively, hereby express their most profound and sincerest condolences upon the passing of John Reynolds "Dusty" Bell, and extend their heartfelt sympathy to his family in this time of loss.

Section 2. When the House of Representatives adjourns this day, it does so in honor and loving memory of John Reynolds "Dusty" Bell.

Section 3. The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to transmit a copy of this Resolution to Representative Sannie Overly for delivery.
