A DFI merit award for outstanding performance by aspecialistdeciduous fruit agri worker

OBJECTIVE
The Deciduous Industries and ARC Infruitec-Nietvoorbij’s merit award for aSpecialist Agri worker is annually awarded to aspecialistagri worker who had continuously excelled in his/her daily performance in the period from 1 July 2016 to30 June 2017on a deciduous fruit farm. This DFI merit award is an entity on its own and is not part of the Western Cape Province regional agri worker competitions.
The main purpose of this award is to motivategeneral agri workers:
•To commit themselves to daily perform above expectations;
•To take decisions that will enhance the activities on his/her farm;
•To be responsible for their deeds on the farm;
•To train other agri workers to also become experts;
•To make themselves, their co-workers and management proud;
SELECTION CRITERIA
Finalists will be selected on the basis of a personal interview by the judges to test the motivation received / Motivations must contain:
•Evidence/Proof of exceptional inputs during the above period
•Evidence/Proof of training provided to other agri workers
•The impact of these inputs on co-workers and management on his/her farm
The nominated worker must have the ability to communicate the content of above motivation with the judges
HOW TO ENTER?
Personnel responsible for agri workers at each participating deciduous fruit farm or region or industry body or ARC Infruitec-Nietvoorbij have to submit the motivation for his/her winner containing the criteria as stipulated for this competition for the period from 1 July2016to 30June2017.
The closing date is 31 July 2017. No late entries will be accepted!

JUDGING
The entries and nominations will be judged by a committee confederated by the organizers.
The judges will be chosen in terms of their knowledge of the fruit industry and the art of farm working.
Judging will take place during beginning of August.
The decision of the judges is final.

ENTRY REGULATIONS
NB: Please follow up to confirm that we havereceived your entry.
The competition is open to all deciduous fruit farms or regions or industry bodies in South Africa as well as ARC Infruitec-Nietvoorbij.
Previous winners may enter again.
ONLY nominations for specialist agri workers will be accepted by the organisers.
The following categories of agroworkers qualify for this award:
Administrative or office personnelor storemen and packhouse workers or tractor and forklift drivers or any in-house trained specialist agri workers like pruners or irrigation personnel.
The organizers maintain the right to postpone or conclude the competition due to unforeseen circumstances.
The organizers are willing to assist the finalists with any travelling and accommodation arrangements.
