To whom it may concern:

I am pleased to write to you on behalf of Norma Grassini-Komara. Norma informed me that she is planning on teaching online courses through Performance Learning Systems. I have known Norma since August 2006, as she was the instructional designer at Moraine Valley Community College.

I was enrolled in her Instructional Design Course for Faculty throughout the Spring and Summer semesters of 2007. As a result. she assisted me in developing my current online course, Introduction to Psychology, which has been successfully running for 4 semesters. Norma is exceptionally skilled in instructional design and coached/instructed me (and several others) with step by step methods from the beginning of my course development throughout its completion. During the course I took with her, she partnered with us to teach us how to create lessons, organize information, measurable objectives for each lesson, rubrics, how to use all instructional tools, and how to infuse the latest multimedia into our courses. She also provided us with skills on managing the course and working with students. Norma also used an interactive teaching method that enabled us to have hands on experiences with the course material, so we learned through practical application. Additionally, she worked with us in creating objective assessment methods that encourage student success and best practices for instructors.

As a result, I feel very confident in the course I developed and it has benefited many students who have succeeded in Introduction to Psychology. I am pleased to say that I am in the process of developing my second online course and will be using the information that I learned through working with Norma in developing it.

I would describe Norma as flexible, easy-going, empathic and hard working. She is very well respected amongst her colleagues and peers. As an instructor for Performance Learning Systems, I believe that her students will be well served and educated. She will provide them with more than a basic education - she will teach them skills that they Can use in their lives and professions.
