REPORT

On the 22nd December 2008, a tender was advertised for the construction of a 300mm diameter, 2030 metre long pipeline which will be used to pump harvested stormwater from Murray Smith Reserve to the clay lined storage lagoons on Kessell Road. The pipeline will be located within the Steam Ranger rail corridor for the majority of its length before running through an easement contained within private property on Kessell Road.

Four companies were invited to submit tenders. The companies were informed of the tight construction timeframe to enable the project to be completed by this coming winter to maximise the amount of stormwater collected for the next summer season.

Tenders closed on Tuesday 27th January 2009 with complying tenders received from the following contractors:

(all tenders exclusive of GST and Construction Industry Training Levy)

Ellers Earthmoving$199,460

Fleurieu Civil$139,550

SouthCoast Sand & Civil$133,500

Diverse Civil$309,145

South Coast Sand & Civil has experience in the construction of a wide range of infrastructure within subdivisions. Engineering & Infrastructure Services staff have confidence that this project will be completed to a high standard and within the specified timeframe.
