  1. Police Report

No report this month, there had been a letter in thanking Catherine St Community Centre and the Community Council for their support with the surgeries which had been happening at the Community Centre, the informal meetings would continue on a monthly basis, as they had proved invaluable to the Police and to the residents.

  1. Fly-tipping

We asked Andy May if it would be possible to get information about bulk uplifts posted on some wheelie bins/information points around the City. There is such a high turnover of residents in some areas of the City that they don’t always get the information about the fact that the Council will uplift items. Here is the information from the Council website;

“A special collection service is available to householders for large or bulky items. The following

There is also a constant problem with fly-tipping under Porthill Ct beside the side door. Charlie had phoned the regular cleansing number and reported it to housing and will keep an eye on whether it has been uplifted or not. Charlie will get us the number of the person who came round Porthill Ct looking at the bins.

  1. E-newsletter

We will consider whether an E-newsletter would be feasible and useful to the community.

  1. New Kitchens

The Council houses in the area are having new kitchens and bathrooms fitted, the workers seem to be taking weeks to put in new ones and are quite happy to use one neighbour’s electricity to install another’s units. There may be £172 disturbance money which can be payable to Council House tenants. We will investigate this.

  1. Traffic

The right turn from George St onto Maberley St is still short of space and difficult to get round, could there possibly be a filter installed at this junction? We will check this out.

There is also a problem with the car parking off Gerrard St, it needs a barrier. Someone from the Council will have a look at the area.

  1. Dancers

Could we just remind anyone attending our Community Council/Network meetings that as a matter of courtesy please goaround the side of the hall, not through the middle of the dancers in the main hall before and after our meetings.
