2018 Dublin Pride Week Essay Contest

2018 Dublin Pride Week Essay Contest

  • The contest is open to all students in the City of Dublin. Entry levels are grades K-1, 2-3, 4-5, 6-8, 9-12.
  • The theme of the essay this year is“Every Action Counts”. Please explain how every action you take to volunteer or help in your community or to reduce your impact on the environment matters.
  • The essay may be a maximum of 250 words for grades K-3.
  • The essay may be a maximum of 500 words for grades 4-12.
  • The essay may be hand written or computer generated.
  • Each essay must include:
  • Student’s First and Last Name
  • School Name
  • Teacher Name
  • Grade
  • Essays must be turned into the school office by noon on Tuesday, April 17, 2018. The entries will be picked up by members of the GFWC Dublin/San Ramon Women’s Club and taken for the judging process. Entries may also be delivered to City Hall by noon onWednesday,April 18, 2018.

PRIZES:

  • All entrants will receive a participation certificate. Non-winning entries will be returned to the schools April 25 & 26.
  • Classroom Award of $200 will be presented to the class teacher of the Grand Prize Winner

(Funds to be spent at the teacher’s discretion)

  • Grand Prize Winner will receive a $100 gift certificate
  • 1st Prize winner in each entry level will receive a $25 gift certificate
  • 2nd Prize winner in each entry level will receive a $15 gift certificateAll Prize winners will be recognized at a Dublin City Council Meeting This contest is a project of the Dublin Community Pride Committee and the GFWC Dublin/San Ramon Women’s Club.

  • The theme of poster contestis“Every Action Counts”.
  • Any drawing or coloring medium may be used; strong colors are encouraged.
  • Original drawings only: no pictures may be traced.
  • Maximum poster size is 11X17
  • Please print the following on the back of the poster:
  • Student’s First and Last Name
  • School Name
  • Teacher Name
  • Grade
