2017 SUMMER CAMP IMPORTNT INFORMATION

Thank you for participating in the Microsoft Summer Tech Camp. Microsoft is pleased to offer The Summer Youth Spark Program at Empowering Success Now. This program will run from May 30 2017 – August 4 2017 (Monday thru Friday). Space is limited and students are expected to attend their registered week on a daily basis.

MICROSOFT SUMMER TECH CAMP

Student Arrival:

The camp begins at 9:00am and designed for a full day of activities. Early drop off is available at 8:00am for a $15/week or $5/day additional charge. Students must be at the center by 12:00pm if they will be attending the field trip. If the student is going to be absent, parents are required to call the site to notify us of the absence by 10:00am

Pick Up:

Student must be picked up by an adult (18 yrs. and older and on the enrollment form).

Students must be picked up on time (5:00pm)

Students picked up after 5:00pm will be considered late and a $1.00 per minute late fee will be applied.

All student must be picked up no later than 5:30 pm.

Snacks and Lunch:

A free lunch will be provided to the students daily by the Fontana free lunch program.

Students may also bring their own sack lunch. Please make sure to specify on enrollment form any food allergies your child may have. Students are required to bring a morning and afternoon snack.

Student Behavior Guidelines: YouthSpark believes that ultimately students themselves must commit to behaving appropriately, so students who wish to participate in our program are asked to accept four simple YouthSpark Agreements:

  • Be Safe
  • Be Respectful
  • Be Responsible
  • Have Fun

In keeping with the purpose and agreements stated above, all students are expected to observe the following behavior guidelines:

  • Treat staff members, volunteers, and other students with respect at all times.
  • Follow directions given by staff members and volunteers.
  • Show Proper respect for the building, grounds, equipment, and supplies.
  • Use language appropriate to the setting (no foul language, verbal insults, etc.).
  • Participate in a safe summer.
  • Follow all site policies and procedures.

Disciplinary Procedures:

All students are expected to be on their best behavior at all times. In the event that a student violates any of the above guidelines, the following disciplinary process will be followed:

  • Time out and loss of playtime is the only form of discipline we enforce. A student that does not follow the rules repeatedly will sit in a chair one minute for each year of their age.
  • A verbal warning will be given.
  • In the event a second violation, the student’s parents may be notified in writing of the problem and the student may be asked to leave the program for the day.
  • In the event that a third violation occurs, the student involved may be permanently dismissed from the program

Care of Equipment:

Students are responsible for the care of their computer and equipment. If students cause damage to the computers or equipment; by signing this agreement, parent agrees to pay for the replacement cost of the damaged item/s.

Attire:

Please make sure your child wears the proper dress code attire. Students are responsible for

any personal items that they bring with them to camp.

Medication:

Parents must sign a consent to perform medical treatment, and provide medication with explicit instructions. Parent will be called if the student’s condition worsens or sickness becomes unbearable to the student.

Birthdays:

Birthdays are very special to us and we love to celebrate them. Parents are welcome to provide treats for the birthday student to share with his fellow campers.

Parent Visits:

Parents are welcome to drop-in at any time but we encourage parents not to stay more than a couple of minutes to minimize student disruption of current lesson or activity.

Field Trips:

In effort to provide the students a break from indoors and out for some summer fun; we will be taking local daily field trips. Students are not required to go on the field trips and are welcome to stay at the facility for indoor fun. Field trips will be within a 20-mile radius (unless otherwise noted) and students will be transported in safe, reliable vans provided by Kids Chauffeur. Please refer to our field trip schedule and transportation authorization.

Communication

We believe communication is important and value open two-way communication. If parent or child is unhappy with our services, we are open to constructive criticism and hope that you let us know in a respectable manner. We strive to provide 100% customer satisfaction, and welcome any suggestions that would aid us in achieving our goal.

Payment of Sessions:

Our weekly session rates are a flat rate. If you choose not to bring your student for whatever reason, the weekly session rate still applies.NO EXEPTIONS!!Registration fees are non-refundable.

Parents have the opportunity to pay for sessions a week at time. If parents wish to do so, the student first and last week will need to be paid in advance and the other weekly session fees must be paid by the end of the week prior to the student’s upcoming session.

Cancellation of Session/s

When discontinuing your child from the camp, parents are required to give a 1-week notice in which the advanced payment will be applied. If a parent has pre-paid and would like to discontinue their student, no refund will be given and monies paid will count as a donation towards Empowering Success Now.

Transportation Policies, Safety and Behavior Guidelines

Safety Policies

While on board transportation rules must be followed at all times. Parents, please remind your children of the importance of these rules throughout the year. Kids Chauffeur/Empowering Success Now (ESN) is transporting the most precious cargo- your child and we want to ensure that every ride in a Kids’ Chauffeur/ESN’S vehicle is enjoyable but most importantlySAFE!

  1. Passengers must wear seat belts at all times. If a passenger does not put on or removes their seat belt Kids’ Chauffeur/Empowering Success Now will not be held liable for any injuries sustained while not wearing their seat belt. Refusal of wearing a seat belt from a passenger will cause grounds for suspension or cancellation of services.
  1. Passengers will remain seated while the van is moving. Passengers should not board or depart from the vehicle until the vehicle has come to a complete stop and the driver has opened the door.
  1. All passengers will obey the driver during pick up, transport, and delivery. The driver may assign seats, if necessary.
  1. No object throwing is allowed in or out of vehicle.
  1. No hanging in or out of the windows while riding in vehicle.
  1. No passenger disturbance allowed while riding in vehicle. It is vital to everyone that the driver is able to concentrate while the vehicle is in motion.
  1. Passengers should not destroy van property or the property of other passengers.
  1. All passengers must be courteous; inappropriate language/behavior is not acceptable or tolerated and will cause grounds for suspension or cancellation of services.
  1. All passengers must dispose of their own food wrappers, cans, etc.
  1. Kids Chauffeur/ESN is not liable for any missing or damaged items left in vehicle.
  1. Any unruly behavior to such that it causes the driver to have an accident, harm to the driver, vehicle or any of the other passengers the parents will be responsible for any damages that is caused.
