A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND CONGRATULATE SUN CITY HILTON HEAD UPON THE OCCASION OF ITS TWENTIETH ANNIVERSARY, AND TO COMMEND ITS RESIDENTS FOR THEIR POSITIVE IMPACT IN THE COMMUNITY.

Whereas, Sun City Hilton Head will celebrate its twentieth anniversary this year, beginning in 1995 with one hundred homes and currently having more than 7,600; and

Whereas, Sun City Hilton Head will celebrate this anniversary with a week full of events, including, without limitation, a kickoff ceremony and block party, a scavenger hunt, sports games and tournaments; and

Whereas, Sun City Hilton Head is a melting pot of people hailing from all parts of our nation and from more than thirty foreign countries; and

Whereas, residents of Sun City Hilton Head chose their community for its climate and weather, housing quality,safety, and the beauty and attractions of its surrounding area; and

Whereas, Sun City Hilton Head residents enjoy a host of amenities that encourage an active lifestyle and involvement in the community; and

Whereas, Sun City Hilton Head residents spend countless hours involving themselves in their community’s schools, churches, governmental institutions and nonprofit organizations,and pride themselves on their volunteer spirit; and

Whereas, it is fitting to recognize the influence Sun City Hilton Head residents have had on Beaufort and Jasper counties and on the state of South Carolina. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the Senate, by this resolution, recognize and congratulate Sun City Hilton Head upon the occasion of its twentieth anniversary and commend its residents for their positive impact in the community.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the appropriate officials at Sun City Hilton Head.
