Comments/Explanations

David Pires was injured at the TRC trials on 11/11/14 and therefore unable to fulfil his engagements at tonight’s meeting. David Pires has been advised that he must submit a medical certificate prior to riding trackwork, trials or races.

Trainer S Brunton was fined $50 under LR 13.3 for the late notification of rider for One At A Time in Race 9 tonight.

RACE 1 – CARLTON DRAUGHT 3YO & UPWARDS MAIDEN PLATE–1200 METRES

Village Green was slow to begin (1L).

Sapphire Storm jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin (1L).

Manazieva was tightened on jumping when Count Palatine was carried outwards by High Hill.

High Hill commenced to over-race near the 800 metres and had to be checked off the heels of Flying Dami.

Approaching the 700 metres Magnasa shifted out when being steadied off the heels of Ebideliah bumping with Village Green which in turn shifted out tightening the running of Sapphire Storm.

Lady Spencer was held up for a clear run behind Count Palatine near the 400 metres and again entering the home straight.

Village Green hung in from the 100 metres until the finishing line.

RACE 2 – STEVE’S LIQUOR CLASS 1 HANDICAP (DIV 1) (1)– 1400 METRES

Mygreyhorse shifted out marginally after jumping resulting in Flying Ensign being taken wider and contacting the hind quarters of Arras.

Testa Gee Gee raced three wide in the early and middle stages.

Making the 1200 metre turn Spirit Of Nia commenced to over-race.

Near the 600 metres Flying Ensign shifted out, became unbalanced and bumped with Mygreyhorse.

Geegees Drummerboy was held up approaching the 400 metres and then again from the 300 metres until approaching the 200 metres.

Subsequent to the race Anthony Darmanin rider of Spirit Of Nia was dislodged when returning the mounting yard. Anthony Darmanin was examined by the on course ambulance officers who reported that he was fit to continue riding.

When questioned on the apparent disappointing performance, Jamie Bayliss rider of Mygreyhorse explained that after receiving a bump near the 600 metres the gelding failed to respond to his riding from the 400 metres. A post-race veterinary examination of Mygreyhorse revealed no obvious abnormalities.

RACE 3 – LAUNCESTON MITSUBISHI CLASS 1 HANDICAP (DIV 2) (2)- 1400 METRES

The start was delayed when Pint Of Pain became fractious in the barriers and got its near hind leg caught up. After being removed from the barriers Pint Of Pain was examined by the Club’s veterinary surgeon and passed fit to take its place in the field.

Shiralee jumped away awkwardly.

Pint Of Pain was slow to begin (1L).

Sherry Barr rider of Geegee’s Clang was reprimanded under AR 137(a) careless riding the particulars being that shortly after the start she allowed her mount to shift in resulting in Bulent Muhcu rider of Shiralee having to ease his mount. In not taking more severe action Stewards took into consideration the low level of interference.

Littlemiss Matilda commenced to over-race near the 1200 metres.

Before All raced wide throughout.

Approaching the 400 metres Geegee’s Clang and Littlemiss Matilda bumped.

Mensa Magic shifted out bumping with Frinja approaching the 400 metres.

Near the 300 metres Littlemiss Matilda shifted out marginally away from Geegee’s Clang and Before All had to be steadied when taken over the heels of Geegee Pretty Jess which had shifted in marginally.

Shiralee laid in under pressure passing the 100 metres.

Pint Of Pain laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.

Subsequent to the race Brendon McCoull rider of Mensa Magic reported that he did not believe the gelding was stretching out from the 200 metres. A post-race veterinary examination of Mensa Magic revealed that gelding had struck itself and lost the off hind plate.

Ismail Toker rider of Pint Of Pain reported that he felt there was something amiss with the gelding. A post-race veterinary examination of Pint Of Pain revealed the gelding to be mildly sore in the near hind leg and to have cuts in its mouth.

When questioned on the apparent change of tacticson Vision Touch, trainer Angela Brakey stated that it has been connections intentions to go forward at its two previous starts this preparation but due to the mare not beginning well she had not been able to be ridden in this manner.

RACE 4 – TRC HOTEL 3YO & UPWARDS MAIDEN PLATE- 1400 METRES

Frogmoor Louie jumped out at the start and bumped with Incumsdacash.

Gwemrae commenced to over-race near the 1000 metres and had to be steadied off the heels of Frogmoor Louie for some distance.

Asarum and Blushing Quest raced wide throughout.

Blushing Quest laid out in the home straight.

Daniel Ganderton rider of Thing One which performed below expectations explained that the gelding hung in and raced greenly from the 150 metres therefore he was unable to ride it out fully to finish.

RACE 5 – THE BOATHOUSE ON NORTHBANK BENCHMARK 82 HANDICAP - 2100 METRES

Holy Cat shifted out on jumping and bumped with Cherry Dancer which became unbalanced and was then contacted again.

Lingo and Skip To The Moon bumped on jumping.

Lingo was inclined to shift in under pressure over the concluding stages. Connections advised the gelding will now be sent for a spell.

Bulent Muhcu rider of Holy Cat was reminded of his obligations to ensure his whip action does not involve raising his hand above shoulder height.

RACE 6 – NEWSTEAD HOTEL & OLIVES BISTRO BENCHMARK 72 HANDICAP- 1400 METRES

Troy Blacker trainer of Mundine submitted a veterinary certificate passing the gelding fit to race tonight.

Blacko underwent a veterinary examination behind the barriers and was subsequently passed fit to take its place in the field.

Blacko failed to muster early speed.

Shortly after the start Mundine shifted out carrying Ollie’s Gold out onto Saturn Shimmy.

Yuppony commenced to over-race when being steadied near the 1200 metres.

Classic Outlaw raced ungenerously in the early stages.

Anthony Darmanin rider of Saturn Shimmy pleaded guilty to a charge under AR 137(a) careless riding in that near the 400 metres he permitted his mount to shift inwards when insufficiently clear of Blacko which had to be checked by its rider. Stewards deemed the interference and carelessness to be of a low level. Anthony Darmanin’s licence to ride in races was suspended for one (1) race meeting to commence at midnight 16 November 2014 until midnight 19 November 2014. In arriving at penalty Stewards took into consideration his guilty plea and record in relation to this rule.

Saturn Shimmy which performed below market expectations underwent a veterinary examination subsequent to the race which revealed no obvious abnormalities.

Subsequent to this race Anthony Darmanin was further examined by the on course ambulance officers who reported that he was fit to continue riding.

RACE 7 – RIVERVIEW HOTEL BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP– 1100 METRES

Frolicked jumped awkwardly shifted out and bumped with Father Ned.

Frolicked shifted out to obtain a clear run on the home turn and brushed with Full Magnum.

RACE 8 – DELORAINE HOTEL CLASS 2 HANDICAP – 1200 METRES

Carnelian Crystal was declared a late scratching at 9.53 pm acting on veterinary advice after it was reported that the mare had slipped in its stall and injured her neck. Prior to the announcement of correct weight, Stewards ordered all monies invested on Carnelian Crystal to be refunded in full. As no bets had been taken there were no deductions applicable. Trainer R Hall was advised that she must submit a veterinary certificate before Carnelian Crystal will be permitted to race again.

On jumping Golden Aces and Just Mouse bumped.

Ourmatealvin raced three wide throughout.

Anthony Darmanin rider of Ourmatealvin accidentally dropped his whip near the 200 metres.

Grey Gown shifted in under pressure over the concluding stages.

RACE 9 – THE CITY OF LAUNCESTON BENCHMARK 62 HANDICAP – 2100 METRES

Stacy Ann over-raced leaving the home straight on the first occasion.

Mister Baldock commenced to over-race near the 1400 metres and shifted out from behind Stacy Ann and carried Kings View (NZ) wider on the track for a short distance.

Passing the 300 metres Stacy Ann was momentarily held up behind Sister Quest.

Jamie Bayliss rider of St Anne explained that in his opinion the mare may not have handled the track conditions and failed to respond to his riding.
