RACE 1 – SWA WATER MAIDEN HANDICAP – 1200 METRES

FREE was declared a late scratching at 12:27pm after the gelding could not be mounted. Prior to the announcement of correct weight, Stewards ordered all monies invested on FREE to be refunded in full. All bets made prior to 12:27pm were to be paid less thirty seven cents in the dollar on the face value of the win ticket and thirty one cents in the dollar on the value of the place ticket. Trainer Peter Chivers was advised that FREE must complete a satisfactory mounting yard test before the gelding will be permitted to race again.

NEXT COPY proved difficult to load. Trainer Rod McGarvie has been advised that NEXT COPY must complete a satisfactory jump out before the gelding will be permitted to race again.

MRS BRAVO was slow to begin (1L).

NIBASUJI made the turn at the 750 metres awkwardly and veered off the track. Trainer Jim Taylor has been advised that NIBASUJI must complete a satisfactory gallop around the 750 metres turn before being permitted to race again.

RACE 3 – DSM FOODS MAIDEN HANDICAP – 1800 METRES

BANNER’S BOY (Kodie Grace (a)) who tired from the 800 metres to be beaten 34.9 lengths underwent a post-race veterinary examination with the veterinary surgeon reporting that no obvious abnormalities could be detected. Kodie Grace (a) reported that after passing the 800 metres BANNER’S BOY dropped the bit and was inclined to lay out.

ISLAND PRINCE hung out throughout the event.

RACE 4 – J J KEYS MEMORIAL CLASS A HANDICAP – 1600 METRES

I’MSINGINGTHEBLUES jumped in the air at the start and was slow to begin (4L).

RACE 6 – ECOLAB SPRINT CUP – 1000 METRES

Michael McDonald rider of CUPCAKE BRIBERY reported that his mount was inclined to hang in in the home straight and proved difficult to ride.

RACE 7 – MONTAGUE’S COOL STORE CLASS B HANDICAP – 1400 METRES

SUNSET REX jumped out at the start bumping with EDDINGTON.

YABUSAME who was marginally slow to begin was then checked between EDDINGTON and MARKOV as a result and lost ground (2L).

Approaching the 300 metres SUNSET REX who was tiring, was momentarily tightened by YABUSAME (Kodie Grace(a)) who laid in. Kodie Grace(a) was advised to exercise more care when in similar circumstances.
