2010-2011 Tuition Discounts, Incentives & Assistance Guidelines

Re-enrollment for St. Matthew Lutheran School begins February 1, 2010. Students who are currently enrolled in St. Matthew Lutheran School will have a space held for the 2010-2011 school year until March 31, 2010. Starting April 1, 2010, enrollment cannot be guaranteed and will be accepted as space is available.

Returning Students(Pre-K 4 thru 8th Grade) Re-registration fee is $75.00; ($50.00 if paid by March 31, 2010.)

New Students(Pre-K 3 thru 8th Grade) Registration fee is $75.00.

2010-2011 Tuition Cost for Kindergarten – 8th Grade is $2,200.00 per student

2010-2011 Technology Fee for Kindergarten – 8th Grade is $50.00 per student

Tuition Discounts

If you are an active communicant member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, the following discounts are available to your family:

St. Matthew Lutheran Church Member Discounts

Fourth Child Plus / $2,200.00

If you are an active communicant member of a Lutheran Church that does not support a day school, the following discounts are available to your family:

Non-member Lutheran Discounts

First Child / $400.00
Second Child / $700.00
Third Child / $900.00
Fourth Child Plus / $2,200.00

Non-Lutheran multi student discount is available to families who have more than one child attending St. Matthew, but are not members of St. Matthew or another community Lutheran church.

Tuition Incentives

Pastoral Credit: $250.00 – There is a $250.00 per family credit for Minister of Religion who enroll their children in St. Matthew Lutheran Day School. A letter from the Chairman of the Congregation or Chairman of the Board of Elders is requested to process the credit. This credit may be used in addition with other tuition discounts and incentives.

Kindergarten Credit: $150.00 – There is a $150.00 credit per child enrolled in the 2010-2011 Kindergarten program, who was enrolled in the 2009-2010 Pre-K 4 program, at St. Matthew Lutheran School. This credit may be used in addition to other tuition discounts and incentives.

Pay In Full by August 15, 2010 –There is a 5% discount for families who pay their tuition bill in full by August 15, 2010. There are no exceptions. Families who enroll their children after August 15, 2010, are not eligible for this discount. Payment in full can be paid by check, cash or credit card. Credit cards are only accepted for payment in full.

St. Matthew Lutheran Church Employee Discount - There is a tuition discount for employees of St. Matthew Lutheran Church as defined in the Personnel Handbook. This discount may be combined with other tuition discounts and incentives, but cannot be combined with financial assistance through St. Matthew Lutheran Church Tuition Assistance Fund, Bison Scholarship Fund or St. Paul Lutheran Church Tuition Assistance Fund.

Financial Assistance

Financial assistance is determined by the Board of Christian Education based on the following information provided by the family requesting assistance:

  1. A completed Tuition Assistance Application (which can be obtained in the school office), and signed copies of completed tax returns from the previous calendar year.
  2. Copies of 3 consecutive pay stubs no older than two (2) months from the date of the signed and completed tuition assistance application.
  3. All documents MUST be turned in to the school office no later than June 1, 2010 for assistance to be considered for the 2010-2011 school year.
  4. Student must be registered in order to be eligible for financial assistance.

Financial assistance applications for residence of Erie County will only be considered after they have been refused assistance by the Bison Scholarship Fund. Financial assistance through St. Matthew Lutheran Church Tuition Assistance Fund cannot be combined with assistance from the Bison Scholarship Fund of St. Paul Lutheran Church Tuition Assistance Fund. Financial Assistance awards cannot be combined with tuition discounts.

A written response to the request for financial assistance will be mailed within 30 days of the June 1, 2010 application deadline.
