AHOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZEAND CONGRATULATE THE PINEWOOD PREPARATORY SCHOOL SPEED AND STRENGTH TEAM ON WINNING THE2010 SOUTH CAROLINA INDEPENDENT SCHOOL ASSOCIATION (SCISA) CLASS AAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE.

Whereas, on April 17, 2010, the Pinewood Preparatory Schoolspeedandstrengthteam captured the 2010 South Carolina Independent School Association Class AAA State Championship title; and

Whereas, although the Panthers were an inexperienced, youthful team, they put their resilience, relentless training, and consistent performance on the line to win the championship over more seasoned teams; and

Whereas, held at Hammond School in Columbia, the title bout featured teams competing in six events: bench press, power clean, pro shuttle, vertical leap, broad jump, and 40yard dash; and

Whereas, Pinewood won the title with a 105point edge over the secondplace team, Orangeburg Prep; and

Whereas, heightening the excitement, senior Moses Richardson was named the overall state champion after winning every event in his weight class; and

Whereas, Coach Dann Holland and Assistant Coach Brandon Wilson poured their own talents and gifts into preparing the team to do its best, and the Panthers did not let them down; and

Whereas, the Pinewood Preparatory School speedand strength team has brought great pride to its community and State, and the House of Representatives is pleased to recognize this outstanding group of young men upon the occasion of their winning the 2010 SCISA state title. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and congratulate the Pinewood Preparatory School speed and strength team on winning the2010 South Carolina Independent School Association Class AAA State Championship title.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Headmaster Dr. Glyn Cowlishaw and Coach Dann Holland of Pinewood Preparatory School.
