2.The Programme for the Day Will Be As Follows

HARVEIAN SOCIETY VISIT TO OXFORD FOR THE BUCKSTON BROWNE -GRAYHILL LUNCHEON – MONDAY 27 JUNE 2016

1.The President invites Members of the Harveian Society to the annual Buckston Browne-GrayHill commemoration which will be held in Trinity College, Oxford on Monday 27 June 2016. Trinity College has associations with Harvey and John Aubrey, his first biographer. The day will include coach travel to/from Oxford for those wishing it (and subject to numbers), Luncheon in Hall and a guided tour of either The Bodleian Libraries or St John’s College.

2.The programme for the day will be as follows:

0945Coach departs Lettsom House, Chandos Street (for those opting for coach travel)

1145Coach party and others who have made their own way welcomed inside Trinity College Front Gate in Broad Street by Mrs Sue Broers, Director of Development Trinity College followed by a guided tour of Trinity College, The Chapel and The Gardens.

1215Prosecco Reception (Trinity Gardens or inside)

1300Luncheon in Hall (three courses, wine and coffee – with a seating plan)

1515Luncheon finishes

1530Tours of Bodleian Libraries for 48-50 (max) and/or a tour of St John’s College

1715Coach departs from outside Trinity College for Lettsom House

3.The cost per head for the day will be £79.00 (including coach travel). For those opting not to travel on the coach the cost will be £74.00 per head. The Harveian Council have agreed that the coach will be subsidised by The Society – there will be 50 seats available on the coach on a first come, first accommodated basis.

4.The Guests for luncheon will be: Dame Frances Ashcroft (Royal Society Professor of Physiology at Oxford and Principal Guest), Sir Ivor and Lady Roberts (President of Trinity College), Mrs Sue Broers (Trinity College), Mrs Susan Thomas (Head of Archives and Modern Manuscripts at The Bodleian) and Dr and Mrs Michael O’Brien (President of The Medical Society of London). Commander Mike Flynn will also join us.

5.The President hopes that Members will join him and our Guests for an interesting and entertaining day. If you wish to attend please return the form overleaf to The Executive Secretary by 17 June 2017 at the latest. Places are limited to 50 for the coach
