1. Write directions FROM 400 Mockingbird Lane in Coppell TOyour County Seat Courthouse in

each of your counties. IMPORTANT:::You will use the other county from CP#2

-Include Interstates, Highways, Farm-to-Market (FM)or County ( CR ) Roads.

Example: Drive North on Interstate-35 for 22 miles, turn East onHighway 377for34 miles, turn North on FM 1342 for 8 miles.

*** DO NOT – write the directions like you find at MapQuest or Google.

Example: …Travel 4.25 miles, veer slightly to the right lane and look for the stop sign, then proceed for 25.7 miles (we do not want . miles ) *** DO NOT Use fractions of a mile, ROUND UP.

2. Take trips FROM your County Seat Courthouse TOTHREE (3) Towns or Cities in your county.

Each trip will start at your County Courthouse address.

-Write directions (roads, direction, miles, etc.) how to get to each townfrom your County Seat Courthouse address.

-Write about one interestingrealplace you visited in each town/city.

Examples: I saw the Gorilla Exhibit at the Smith Zoo in Tyler; I ate a cherry pie at Mama’s Fried Pie Company in Plano;my family bowled at the Lucky 12 Bowling Lanes in Gail.

- Write about one MEAL. A real place to eat in that town.

Example: While in Jimtown, I had lunch at the B&B Ranch BBQ Pit. I ordered…

3. Make a chartwith the following items --for each county -- 2 total charts:

-All Interstates in your County.

-All U.S. Highways in your County.

-All Texas State Highways in your County.

- Farm-to-Market (FM) and/or County (CO) Roads in your County (5 Maximum).

*** Example – If you do not have an Interstate going through your County, you will write the

word “none” under the Interstate column.

4. Draw the shape of your county on 8 ½ x 11 white computer paper.

(For both of your counties) ++ (2 total)

-Write your county name for the title.

-Label your county seat.

-Label the 3 towns/cities you visited {and 3 you would like to visit in the other county}.

-Draw and label the Interstates in YELLOW.

-Draw and label the U.S. Highways in GREEN.

-Draw and label the Texas State Highways in RED.

-Draw and label Farm-to-Market (FM) and/or County (CR) roads in BLUE.

-Draw an arrow pointing to the direction of Coppell. Label the direction (N, S, NE, etc).

-List the Nearest City to your County Seat that has a population over 100,000.

*You will give a 2- 2 ½ minute presentation describing your trip(s) and show us your map*

*** DO NOT GIVE DRIVING DIRECTIONS
