The method of calculating the Communication availability index is revised and divided into 3 parts as shown above from the month of October 2005.

Method of calculating Communication availability is changed to individual down time, aggregating the total down time then applying the following formula –

The carrier acceleration for Salsette – Kalyan straight 110 kv and Salsette – Kalwa – Kalyan 110 kv T line remained out because of new jointing bad patch cord at Kalwa.
Data / 99.96 % / The Salsette – Kalyan Fiber Optic link was out for 14 hrs between 18.00 hrs on 31st May 06 to 10.00 hrs on 1st June 06. The SMS data, ABT metering data from Kalyan and Ambernath remained out because of new jointing bad patch cord at Kalwa.
Voice / 99.98 % / The Salsette – Kalyan Fiber Optic link was out for 14 hrs between 18.00 hrs on 31st May 06 to 10.00 hrs on 1st June 06. The dialing to and fro Kalyan and Salsette remained out because of new jointing bad patch cord at Kalwa.

4. Fibre Optic connectivity for Kalwa
27 - 31 May 06 / The Fiber cable at Tower 77 on Salsette – Kalyan OPGW is rerouted through Kalwa C/R is completed. The 2 nos. FOX 20 equipment has been installed at Kalwa carrier room for establishing new links between Salsette – Kalwa and Kalwa – Kalyan for ABT metering data to Tata LDC and Line protection.
5. Distribution Automation System for Saki, Borivli and Central Mumbai Areas.
