Tournament Details

Format: “Four Ball” Match Play Event

Teams will play against fellow competitors to try and accumulate points based on whether they win, lose or halve a hole. Teams will compete in 5 nine-hole matches over the course of two days. A total of 9 points per match will be allocated.

WIN the Hole: 1 Point

HALVE the hole: ½ Point

LOSE the Hole: 0 Points

After the completion of all 5 nine-hole matches, the team with the most points from each flight will compete in a shootout. See Flight Winner Shoot Out (page 11) for details.

Handicaps: All play will be off of the low handicap player in the foursome of your match. You can review the flight breakdown on (page 16). For information on everyone’s handicap for the weekend, you can review the Calcutta sheet.

Tees: Medal (BLUE) is standard for all play. Jones (BLUE/WHITE), Match (WHITE), Super Sr. and FWD (Forward) tees for those that qualify under WMGA tee policy. You must present valid ID with Birthday to qualify for Jones or White tees. And, you may not change tees at any time. Once you sign up for a tee, you play that tee for the duration of the tournament.

Flights: Flight information will be based off of team handicap indexes. Each flight will have six teams per flight. See Flight details (page 16) for further details. If we do not have enough players to fill out all flights, there will be 5 teams in a flight and each will play one match against par.

Rules: USGA Rules will apply along with WGC local rules.

Ties: If there is a TWO way tie, flight winner will first be decided by head to head match up. If still tied, winner will be decided by score vs 3rd place team, then 4th place and 5th place if needed. If still tied, then a three-hole cumulative score with the three hardest holes of the head to head match until a winner is determined.

If there is a THREE or more way tie, flight winner will first be decided by team who scored most points in matches among those tied. With three teams, you would look at the two matches against the other winners to see who scored most points in those two matches. If still tied, winner will be decided by score vs 4th place team and then 5th place team if needed.

Thursday – 3-Hole Mini-Tournament

YOU MUST SIGN UP NLT 3:30 pm

A chance to win $350 for first place and $150 for runner up teams.

To get you prepared for playing alternate shot in the SHOOTOUT, we are scheduling a 3-hole event beginning at 5:00 PM. The cost to enter is $40 per team. (50% will go towards Club Staff tips). Players that sign up to play will be grouped in Flights of 6 (or 5 if we have to) based on team total index. Flights will play 3 holes:

Flight # 1 Holes 8, 9 & 1

Flight # 2 Holes 7, 8 & 9

Flight # 3 Holes 3, 4 & 5

Flight # 4 Holes 9, 1 & 2

Flight # 5 Holes 4, 5 & 6

Flight # 6 Holes 2, 3 & 4

Flight # 7 Holes 6, 7 & 8

Flight # 8 Holes 1, 2 & 3

Flight # 9 Holes 5, 6 & 7

Format: Modified alternate shot, cumulative net score for the 3 holes you play. Lowest score of the three holes wins the flight. Both Players tee off, select the best tee shot and then alternate until the ball is holed. We will use 60% of the lower HDCP partner and 40% of the higher HDCP partner. If you select Player A’s tee ball, then B hits the next shot and alternate through the hole.

Flight Tie-Breaker: Team with the lowest score on their third hole wins. If still tied, then the team with the lowest score on their second hole wins. If still tied, all tied teams report to the ninth tee box where ties will be broken in all flights with ties via a CTP shot with both team members hitting. The club Pro will select a spot on the ninth Champ tee box to hit to #5 Pin.

Prize: Winning team in each Flight wins the pot accumulated for their flight. For example, if there are 6 teams in a flight, winning team gets $120. If there are only 5 teams in a flight, then the winning team wins $100.

3-Hole Champion and Runner-up teams: Flight winners will compete in a 1-Hole Shootout at 6:30 pm on Hole #9, again playing a Modified Alternate shot with HDCPs, playing off the lowest HDCP team in the shootout. In the event of ties for 1st and/or 2nd place in the overall competition, those teams will compete from approximately 100 yards out for a closest-to-the-hole tie-breaker. Order of play will be determined by drawing lots. Both players will hit, but only one ball will count. Other teams can watch.

Friday and Saturday – Hole-N-One and Closest to Pins

During the first two rounds round of play on Friday and the two rounds on Saturday, there will be:

a.  Two 2015 Hole-n-One Vehicles sponsored by Shottenkirk Ford of Jasper, GA on holes #2 and #15.

b.  CTP prizes for #6, #11 and #13

Liquor, other wines and Imported Beer are available for cash, credit or on member account.

Flight Winner’s Shootout

Winners of each flight will participate in the shootout. The shootout will be contested as Alternate Shot with HDCPS, playing off the lowest team HDCP in the shootout, on holes #11, #12, #17 and #18 as follows:

·  All teams will play holes #11 and #12. The team can decide who tees off on 11, but then the other player MUST tee off on #12 regardless of who holes out on #11.

·  Order of play on #11 will start with the 1st Flight and proceed in order of flight numbers

·  Order of play on #12 will be based on the lowest score on #11.

·  Combined net score on #11 and #12 will determine who moves on to #17. The lowest 3 teams and ties will move on.

·  The order of play on #17 will be based on the lowest total score for holes #11 and #12. If there are ties, the lower flight goes first.

·  The teams can have either player tee off on #17 and all scoring reverts back to zero. HDCPS will be recalculated based on the lowest team HDCP still playing.

·  The lowest scoring two teams advance to #18. If teams are tied for either of the positions moving on, then those teams will compete in a closest to the hole shot from approximately 100 yards out with both players on the team hitting a shot and selecting the better of the two shots. The order of play will be determined by drawing position numbers out of a hat. Players not hitting may watch the other teams hit. The team with the closest distance to the hole breaks the tie. If both spots are being played for, then the two teams with the closest distance to the hole move on.

·  The order of play on #18 for the remaining two teams is again determined by drawing numbers out of a hat and scores revert to zero. HDCPS will be recalculated if necessary, playing off the team with lower HDCP. Either player can tee off for the team. If there is no winner, the two teams play #18 again following this same procedure until there is a winner.

CALCUTTA

1.  You have the right to buy the option to own UP TO HALF of your team for an initial minimum/maximum $100 CASH bid.

2.  You must pay your $100 CASH before the start of the Calcutta (Thursday 7:30 pm). You must pay Jeff Smalley your cash to qualify for these option rights.

3.  At approximately 7:30 pm, we will start the Calcutta/auction of all the teams in the Member-Guest. We will select flights randomly.

4.  We will start the bidding at $200 per team. We will allow bids in even $20 amounts.

5.  We will auction all five/six teams in a flight before moving onto the next flight. And, we will collect all the CASH for bids in a flight before moving to the next flight. Smalley will be collecting the CASH.

6.  If a team pays their initial $100 for the option rights on their team and that team sells for $500, the winning bidder for this team will owe the difference or $400. The team then has two options:

a.  The option to simply own the percentage already paid (in this example, a 20% stake in their team)

b.  Pay the winning bidder (OWNER) of the team up to the remaining portion to equal a 50% stake of the team (in this case, $150 to own up to a full half share of the team) or something in between.

NOTE: Payouts will be made to the winning bidder (OWNER) of the team so keep track of what % of what teams you own.

7.  A team does not have to be present at the Calcutta to buy their option to own up to half of their team (see #1& 2 above). They can choose 6b above Friday morning BEFORE PLAY STARTS if they can’t stay for the entire Calcutta. But, they must place their initial bid of $100 prior to the start of the Calcutta (Thursday 7:30 pm) to qualify for the option rights.

8.  If there are teams where teams did not place initial bids on their team, we auction these off as well starting at $200. The team HAS NO RIGHTS TO THIS TEAM! With $200 bids, auction will go up. If no $200 bid, a reverse auction will start at $180 and go down by $20. This will not be a first come first served buy, but rather the first person to bid will have to withstand any other takers that want to then go up by $20…just like the regular auction.
