WOW – Women OnThe Water is hosting summer events with the aim of engaging more women in boating.

MENTORING RACES AT MIMICO CRUISING CLUB
Monday May 31 or Monday June 21 – leaving the dock at 6:00PM
Great opportunity to hone up on your racing skills and meet new friends and crew. It doesn't matter if you haven't ever boated you'll be with a mentor who will give you the basics! Cost is $20 which includes an after-race burger – BYO...Beverage and PFD.

COOKING ON YOUR BOAT with JEN ZIMMERMAN OF LAZY CAT CATERING
Monday, June 7th – Lakeshore Yacht Club
Jen will provide hints and tricks for preparing fresh meals aboard your boat regardless of the size of your boat or the number of folks you need to feed. She will also cover provisioning and demonstrate some great new tools and techniques on how to entertain with the least amount of effort. Take-aways include a recipe book for a seven day trip. Cost is $65 which includes tastings and a 3-course dinner cooked and served at Lakeshore Yacht Club.

ABOUT WOW – WOMEN ON THE WATER
WOW –Women On The Water was founded in 2008 when a group of women boaters approached Lori Mason to do a safety seminar exclusively for women.
WOW seminars are both educational and fun and designed to teach women how to react to basic May Day situations such as shooting off flares; manoeuvring vessels in MOB situations; calling on the radio; and recognizing their positions.As well, WOW seminars cover basic boat handling skills such as how to dock; knot tying; mooring and anchoring are covered on the second night.To date, WOW has hosted five successful seminars.

ABOUT WOW FOUNDER – LORI MASON
Lori Mason has been boating since she was four both power and sail. She has blue water miles delivering and chartering as well as fresh water racing and cruising. Lori likes to rebuild and build boats. Her first boat was an antique, classic Tancook Whaler Schooner that won second place in the Wooden Boat Show. She has currently completed a Tug Boat which she docks in Toronto.
Lori has been involved with The Store Mason’s Chandlery, a family operation, in Port Credit since 1978.
