PBIS Monthly Classroom Celebrations
Birthday Treats
When your child brings birthday treats, the treats will be shared during their scheduled lunch time. You are also welcome to join your child for lunch that day to celebrate their special day with the class. We will no longer be disrupting classroom instruction with birthday treats/celebrations.
Soccer Teams
Our soccer teams will be playing their season-ending tournament on Saturday, October 8 at Guilford HS.

Donuts with Dad
We are excited to host Donuts with Dad on Friday, October 21, at 7:00 AM in the Cafeteria/Gym. All dads who attend are welcome to stay for our daily Morning Meeting in the gym at 7:35 AM. Dads can also walk their child(ren) to class before leaving for their day of work, school, or various tasks.
If Dad is unable to attend, we ask that you invite a significant male in your child(ren)’s life – Grandpa, uncle, big brother, pastor, neighbor.
PBIS Universal Team Meeting
Please consider attending our PBIS Universal Team’s monthly meetings. The team discusses academic achievement, school discipline, and interventions used to help our students make their choices. Parent input is valued, so consider attending, please.
Columbus Day
There will be no school on Monday, October 10, in observance of Columbus Day.
Parent-Teacher Conferences
Please be sure to schedule a conference with your child’s teacher on Thursday, October 13from 3-6 PM or Tuesday, October 18 from 3-6 PM. A strong connection between the home and school is necessary for your child to have a successful school year.
Scholastic Book Fair
Reading is the most important skill you can teach a child. Of all the skills children learn, it is the one you as parents can influence the most.
We invite you to shop our Scholastic Book Fair being held during our Parent-Teacher Conference Nights on Thursday, October 13 or Tuesday, October 18. The Book Fair will also be open during school hours October 11-18 from 8:00 AM – 2:30 PM.
The Book Fair surrounds students with hundreds of fun, engaging, and affordable books for them to discover. The more children practice reading, the better reader they become.

Our next PTO Meeting will be held October 18 at 6:30 PM in the Computer Lab.
Red Ribbon Week
During the week of October 24,our school will celebrate Red Ribbon Week. It is an opportunity for our teachers to alert our students to the dangers of drug use/abuse and bullying. We plan a fun week with special activities and special dress-up days. Our hope is that our students will make a pledge to live a drug-free life, even at their young age in elementary school.
Spooky Reading Night
Spring Creek students, families, and friends are invited to Spooky Reading Night on Thursday, October 27, from 6:00-7:30 PM. The evening will include special guest readers, reading activities, and treat bags. Students should wear their Halloween costumes this evening.At Spring Creek, we have established this night as an alternative to replace a school day celebration for Halloween.
Book-IT Reading Rewards
During the month of October, Spring Creek students will have the opportunity to read for pizza. Each student is asked to read or to be read to for 20 minutes each evening Monday-Friday. At the end of the month, any student reaching their reading goal will receive a certificate for a free personal pan-size pizza at Pizza Hut.The Pizza Hut Book-It program runs throughout the course of the school year, ending in March.

To feel good and to have fun: EXERCISE!It is recommended that students engage in some form of physical activity for at least one hour every single day. Regularly doing activities that they enjoy, whether it is playing soccer or riding a bicycle will help students to grow into healthy, happy, active adults.
